Congratulations on having the courage to embrace change, the insight to recognize you deserve a different experience, and the motivation to put effort into getting a different result. Buckle up, hang on, and enjoy the ride as I guide you out of your comfort zone.
Asking for help is a sign of strength and courage, if you are ready to make changes to get a different result I would be honored to be your guide. My name is Amy Harger and I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Indiana. I am a judgement free, solution focused therapist ready to help anyone who is seeking a different experience and ready for change. While validating that all change is hard, there must also be acceptance that in order to get a different result you must do something differently. I am certified in Motivational Interviewing, CBT, ACT, Mindfulness and REBT and tend to use a mixture of these modalities tailored to each individual person based on need.
I am also a certified Suicide Prevention trainer and very comfortable with discussing suicidal ideation along with assessing risk level to refer to different level of treatment if warranted.
My personal goal is to provide tools to allow people to help themselves in reducing suffering in order to enjoy a more peaceful quality of life based in resiliency to overcome the stressors life throws at us.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Overall rating:
Amy is funny and understanding. She responds to my messages on the same day, and with kindness and supportive suggestions.
Amy was very attentive, knowledgeable and supportive. She gave me great advice and recommendations to cater to my concerns that I will continue to use.
I have always been the participant reluctant to try therapy. At the age of 27 I realized this option was becoming less of a choice and more of a must-try. Since meeting Amy, I’ve felt deeply validated through curriculum, and enabled to explore my potential for healing. She has a grounded and relatable approach to discussing otherwise difficult topics, and has won my trust in the potential of therapy as vehicle for healing. Amy brings passion and connection to this purpose - to that I am grateful.
Amy has helped me so much. Together, we tackle issues around OCD, anxiety, and beyond. She is a great listener, compassionate but also funny, and so insightful. She is also great about recommending resources: books, articles, meditations, and exercises.
Amy is a great therapist. She makes you feel seen and really listens. She recalls details you forget you shared and is always so friendly. She gives great advice and is always understanding.
Amy is very responsive, and knowledgeable. Great counselor.
Amy has been very understanding, and it's been helpful that she checks in with me since I have a full plate! It's helping me prioritize myself in addition to offering amazing advice and coping skills.
Amy has a way of making me feel very comfortable talking to her while still being able to offer help and advice. I feel like I am talking to a professional and a confidant at the same time. It’s very reassuring and feels safe and easy.
Amy has not only been a counselor but a friend to me. Loving my experience with her. I am sure I ll be able to get where I want to be sooner than later with Amy’s help. Slowly but surely! Thanks Amy for being my biggest cheerleader!
