Ashley helped me the past year and a half and I will be forever grateful! She made therapy enjoyable while helping me through the worst time of my life. I will be forever grateful!!

Ashley helped me through a very tough time in my life. I felt like we clicked and I never had that happen with a therapist. She helped me overcome a lot of things I have been struggling with. Ashley also made it feel like a safe space to talk and I don’t know what I would’ve done without her. Thank you again!

More about Ashley

My name is Ashley Pettinato and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Connecticut servicing adolescents and adults. I am a school psychologist by training and the majority of my 7 years of experience has been working with adolescents, as well as their parents and families, on a variety of social, emotional, or behavioral challenges. I have guided individuals through issues related to anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders, as well as intellectual and developmental disabilities. I also have training and experience related to career changes, relationship challenges, and family problems.

I think of my counseling style as sensitive and inviting. I believe in treating everyone with respect and compassion. I believe that everyone has the ability to benefit from counseling whether it's to address a time-limited stressor or an ongoing problem. A goal of mine is helping individuals to see their inner strength, and providing them with strategies and tools to get through the most difficult times. My approach is a combination of psycho-education, cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing techniques. Sessions will be tailored to your individual needs.

I look forward to working with you!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
