I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a Master’s Degree in clinical psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago. I provide individual therapy to adults and adolescents, as well as couples and family therapy.
My practice is a general outpatient practice, best suited for those who desire improvement in their love life, family life, work life, or in their physical health and wellness. My approach emphasizes the importance of practicing new behaviors outside of the therapy.
One practice that has been shown to be helpful, and which in many ways provides a groundwork for psychotherapy, is the practice of mindfulness.
Ultimately, my mission as a therapist is to help you live a better, more fulfilling life.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

David is amazing very kind and understanding
I really enjoyed talking with David. I feel like he is a good listener and has very helpful insight.
David Schwartz listens and helps me to understand my feelings and process through them. He helps to understand that any progress is good progress. He gives a variety of ways to help with my anxiety and depression.
David is a good man. I feel he really understands me and our communication is very valuable to me.
David is exceptional at helping me navigate my stressors and see what choices I have in black and white. As somebody with a variable, packed schedule a planner can prove inadequate when I hit a roadblock in some area of my life that requires tactful decision making. David helps me weigh all my options objectively so that I can act on my best interests.
David really pays attention to what I'm saying and always gives very creative feedback. He is extremely perceptive helps me put things in context with probing (not leading) questions. I feel like he is genuinely invested in my improvement and is very patient with me when I am struggling. I would highly recommend him to anyone!
David has a very proactive approach to therapy. Instead of passively listening, he actively reframes and challenges you to consider other perspectives. He truly has a in depth insight and wisdom in what he says. I can confidently say that for me, the sessions provided a clarity that I was severely lacking prior to starting working with him.
David Schwartz has helped me work out my anger issues. He listens and responds well and with respect. He has given me some very good techniques to help calm myself when I get upset or my anxiety gets to be too much. He has helped to learn meditation techniques that help me to clear my mind. I would recommend him to anyone who needs help.
Such a nice and understanding person through any situation that has been brought up during our discussion. He has helped me learn different techniques on how to control my anger and frustration that have helped me continue to strive to become the person that I want to be.
I thoroughly enjoy working with David. He seems to really understand me and my thought process. His suggestions have been spot on and I really feel like the exercises he's given me have been helping.
He is so validating and a great listener and I honestly think that any person would benefit from having him as their therapist because he has honestly helped me so much with accepting and being.
Dave is pretty good at what he does. I love being able to open up and talk to him about different situations that I ve been going through and he always has a different perspective than me and it makes me looks at things in a completely different way. I appreciate his candor and his point of views.
So far so good. This is my first time doing therapy so I don't have much to go on but so far I like David
David is an amazing therapist. He digs down deep to the issue and helps think of ways to better the situation. He is wonderful and has helped me through some tough times. I'm glad I took the step towards therapy and glad David was my therapist.
David Schwartz is amazing. He listens, asks questions, let’s me lead the conversation and does not expect me to talk about things until I’m ready to confront them. He gives suggestions on how to calm myself and tips on how to meditate better. I would recommend David Schwartz to anyone.
David listens very well and responds quickly I almost feel like I bother him to much but he is an exceptional therapist and I will be continuing with him for months on in
David makes me feel really comfortable. He offers a lot of insight and teaches me different ways of thinking about all kinds of life situations. He also follows up and checks in on you, which means a lot to me. I really enjoy my sessions with David.
David has helped change my life. I’ve always gone between periods of deep depression and overwhelming anxiety to periods of manic productivity in work/school/hobbies and growth in my social life. David has helped me achieve the structure and to stay balanced through my high phases helped me feel grounded and safe when I’m in a low phase. David has been indispensable in helping me through what is for me a very complicated world of interpersonal relationships. With David, I feel like I’m learning to navigate my own emotions in a way I could never have learned on my own.
I liked the way he has broken things down for me to have a better understanding of what he is trying to covey to me. I appreciate his input.
Being inconsistent and flighty is such a hard and sensitive thing for me that when I start to fail or misstep I will often completely run away from the relationship or situation I was participating in, just to save face. I felt safe enough to come back to David, even after I disappeared. It sounds so simple, but that means something. To be able to fail, and still come back.
I worked with David for a year, and I am so grateful I did. He is passionate, caring, and helpful. I learned so much about myself and how to have a better perspective. I had an array of issues coming into therapy and rather than trying to solve them, he showed me how to manage them in a healthy way. Everything I learned, I will apply to situations throughout the rest of my life. Truly thankful!
I am very pleased with David Schwartz. He has responded to all my messages promptly and has supported me through out the therapy process.
He’s amazing!!
I am very happy with the way therapy is going, I feel David has helped alot in the few sessions we have had and teaching me the skills to work on feeling better about myself and issues I have.
David has truly helped me change the way I think about life and bring meaning into it. He is very good at analyzing our conversations and gently showing me the gaps in my reasoning or assumptions I make that drive my behavior. Working as an investment banker makes my days very stressful, but David has helped me take a step back and remind myself to "be here now" and pause to take moments of peace before diving back into the grind. Thank you David for everything; truly look forward to our enlightening discussions every week.
I am happy with David, he has been helping me so much and every time we connect, I feel relieved, heard, understood and respected. He truly cares about my issues and everything I am going through.
My experience in therapy is plentiful. Over the years seeking help from a variety of therapists has left me un -satisfied results until connecting with David. He has listened and offered real feedback with workable tasks to improve my situation. His approach is practical and helpful. I highly recommend him and am happy to continue my sessions with him as I feel as I am making good progress towards a better future.
He listens, he’s smart, he’s generous. Very good therapist who works at a high-level
David makes me comfortable enough to talk about things I would not talk with others about.
David was my first introduction to therapy. I was so grateful to receive his care. I found his listening to be insightful, and no nonsense. David gave me an encouraging atmosphere to look clearly and soberly at the challenges I felt in my life and helped me to be more specific and practical in my evaluations. I would highly recommend David, especially if you have an interest in martial arts or mindfulness.
I've really enjoyed my experience with my current therapist & Better Help. :)
He’s the ultimate therapist.
Having switched between many therapist over the last few years, I can say with a high degree of certainty that David takes his occupation seriously. His help processing the events of my past life, dealing with interpersonal conflict, and weighing decisions has been invaluable. David has always been excellent about minding my priorities and working through the problems that I’m facing at any given time. You would be hard pressed to find an individual more adept at helping you achieve an honest reflection.
David is extremely helpful. His advice has made a measurable improvement in my mental health and happiness.
I've only had one live session with David so far, but it has already been very insightful. He is patient, thoughtful, and asks pertinent questions that made me think about my issues from a completely different perspective. Thank you very much David; I look forward to working with you!
Dr. Schwartz has a awesome way of processing information and relaying it back. Dr. Schwartz professionalism never comes into question; in fact I would say he has a most surgical approach at maintaining professionalism while helping a client weed out issues. Dr. Schwartz clearly shows concern/care whenever engaged in a session w/client. Also it’s clear that the care he displays w/clients has been curated with much time, diligence, and passion for this line of work. Dr. Schwartz work honestly is served no justice w/words alone only. Truly one of those instances you need to see for yourself. Hopefully this will help choosing a therapist that suits you; good luck!
David is a good listener and easy to talk to. His suggestions and observations have been helpful for me. It is good to have someone to bounce ideas off of and receive suggestions from. David fits that need.
David is already my favorite therapist after one session. HE is kind and understanding and epically non-judgmental.
David has been very straight into the point. He is also allowed me the Space to explore complex Things I am processing such as identity, relationships with men, and helping me go from thinking I was going to break up with my partner, so getting ready to be married. He’s a no nonsense guy, and I appreciate that and the therapist. Would highly recommend.
I’ve been with David for a few weeks now, and he has been entirely helpful in many ways; he’s offered me many ways to deal with issues that I’m having as well as helps me to identify where those same problems come from. He’s a strong listener and provides important and helpful input relative to whatever we’re discussing in each session. No matter the topic, he is very open and I never feel ashamed to bring up any of my issues that I’m dealing with, and he is always eager to help. Very thankful to have someone like David here to talk to.
David have been supportive and I have learned so much from him. Looking forward to more.
