Hi!

Welcome to my page! I'm so excited for you to be here as this means that you are contemplating the beginning of your therapeutic journey, which takes so much courage. Taking that first step to reach out for help and support is so brave of you. I believe that everyone can benefit from therapy at some point in their lives, regardless of age, race or gender.

My approach to therapy is fluid and flexible to the specific needs of my clients. What is important to me is that you feel heard, understood and supported throughout our time together. I am here to help you realize, and then work toward, achieving your true potential for growth, peace, and healing, and fulfillment in life. We will tailor your treatment plan to fit the goals that you have for our time together. This is a time for you finally to take care of you; your wants, needs, goals, etc., which is something we so often throw to the wayside. We will start your therapeutic journey wherever you are emotionally and mentally, all that matters is that you're starting!

I received my Masters of Social Work degree from Aurora University with a specialization in Addictions. Since graduating 4+ years ago, I have received my Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor certification, Licensed Social Work license and my Licensed Clinical Social Work license. I have spent my time working many different settings including working with individuals and groups struggling with substance use disorder in all levels of care (detox, residential, outpatient), working with adult and adolescent individuals and groups struggling with mental health concerns in an outpatient setting. During the Covid-19 pandemic, I worked in our local hospital to provide resources, support and mindfulness exercises to nurses, doctors, patient care techs and other hospital employees who are working directly with patients who have contracted Covid-19. I especially enjoy working with new or expecting mothers or families, individuals and family members affected by the disease of addiction, couples, and individuals struggling with anxiety and anxiety-related issues, self-love, insecurity, sexuality, confidence, spirituality and shame and guilt.

I use a variety of approaches to therapy including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Psychoeducation, Psychodynamic Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile and whether you decide to work with me or another therapist, you should be so proud of yourself for taking this step!

Congratulations and best of luck in your therapy journey! Please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
