I love having Sue to talk to and share my feeling and concerns. She listens and asks questions to help me look at things from another viewpoint and has suggestions that are helpful as well.

I was weary about the app before starting my therapy journey, but I’m so glad I decided to join. I got extremely lucky that I was paired with Sue on my first try. She is completely engaged in all of our sessions and shows genuine concern as well as support with all that I share. Our journey has been short, but it feels like I’ve known her forever. She quickly learned how to challenge me to develop strategies to cope and is constantly cheering me on when I display progress towards tackling my struggles. I feel so grateful for my experience and am excited to continue bettering myself with the help of Sue.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Sue is a thoughtful and empathetic counselor. She's an incredible listener and while we come from different backgrounds, I feel heard and validated when talking to her. I was initially wary of using an app for therapy, yet being able to message or video chat Sue throughout the week makes therapy more accessible and helpful for me (versus my previous experience of only talking to my therapist once a week in an office). Overall, finding Sue through Betterhelp was an amazing stroke of luck. I'm excited to continue working with her as my therapist.
