Brittany is very supportive and understanding. I feel like I am checking in and chatting with a peer - the discussions are very comfortable and not at all feeling like "answering to a doctor". :) Would definitely recommend Brittany to others.

Welcome to BetterHelp. Life events can cause anyone to experience symptoms of anxiety and/or depression. How you respond to these symptoms makes all the difference in your overall health. Together we will work to identify your goals of managing these symptoms and develop steps to reduce their affect on your day to day life. Sometimes these life events are traumatic, which can cause much longer term effects on your health. Processing trauma, no matter how long ago it happened, is vital to moving forward past the traumatic event.

A little bit about me personally. I am a Southern Illinois native. I attended SIU and completed my Bachelor’s of Social Work in December of 2012. After taking a semester off, I moved forward to obtain my Masters of Social Work which I completed in May of 2014. Since completing my education, I have worked as a therapist with adolescents with extreme trauma in a residential setting. I then worked with the public schools in Williamson County to provide therapy in the schools to students with a variety of disorders, including behavior disturbances. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults in an outpatient setting for the past 3 years. I have found that therapy is my passion and I look forward to helping you discover how therapy can improve your quality of life.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Brittany is truly an amazing therapist. She’s helped me tremendously through navigating past trauma and how it’s impacted my life today. Even when I don’t have much to talk about during a session I can still feel comfortable just talking about my week and what’s been going on. She’s great

Reviewed February 2023

She's helpful, kind, and a great listener. I dumped a lot on her and she's flowing with all this beautifully.

Reviewed April 2022

Great at being flexible and truly helpful. I needed someone who was comfortable and able to converse via text for a majority of my use. Brittany is great at creating a safe and relaxing environment for you to just talk about anything. I encourage hesitant users to try using the text chat session option as sometimes it is easier for people to be more open and honest by writing out thoughts and sending via text. Sometimes speaking in person face to face can be intimidating and make people less talkative and open.

She’s still the best

Brittany is very timely and professional. She has been a very helpful part of my weekly routine where I can just process all my feelings and reset. She sends helpful worksheets and always has suggestions on making improvements in my life and what I should focus on.

This was my first time seeking counseling for myself, and I was matched with Brittany off the bat. As I was nervous from the get-go, Brittany was understanding, patient, and open to any issues I wished to discuss. I've been working with her digitally for the last 4 months during COVID over a variety of topics, ranging from home life, to work life, to my personal relationships. Each session she's been able to help me, be it through personal worksheets, establishing helpful habits, or simply listening to (and engaging with) me as a reasonably objective 3rd party. I've really enjoyed my time with her, and found this experience to be incredibly beneficial!

I really appreciate working with Brittany. She is a great listener, and had the ability to quickly establish a warm connection between us so that we could really get to work. She is perceptive, responsive and supportive. She is insightful and has a breadth of information readily available to support it. I am glad to have found this resource!

Reviewed November 2020

I’ve been working with Brittany for about a month and it’s been going really well! She responds quickly, thoughtfully, and asks just the right questions. I’ve tried in-person therapy once before and have done chat sessions with Brittany, and I feel I get the same level of attention and care over chat than I did in-person. Definitely recommend and am so happy with my experience.
