Mandy is so helpful and wonderful, she guided me through our sessions and helped me identify areas that I needed to work on. I feel like she has helped me in a lot of areas and made me feel heard and seen.

Mandy has helped me more than any therapist I have ever had. I have been through several therapists in my life who never seemed to “get it.” Although some of them helped me, I always got to a stopping point where I felt like there was nothing else they could help me with. I believe in long term therapy and after several months of working with Mandy conversations have never seemed awkward and I have not felt a halt in sessions like I previously did. She is kind, compassionate, funny and has helped me continue to better myself!

More about Amanda

  • 5 years' experience
  • Female
  • LMFT

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) in Illinois with more than 5 years' experience providing counseling services for individuals, couples, and families.

I have experience helping clients with a wide range of challenges, including general life stress, anxiety, depression, and communication. I also have experience with providing support for members of the LGBTQ community in the areas of identity development, coming out, relationship challenges, and authentic living.

I use an integrative approach to therapy that is collaborative, solution-focused, and aimed at helping create meaningful movement towards positive change. The clients that I work with can expect a safe, secure, and non-judgmental experience in which they can feel free to openly discuss their thoughts and feelings. I believe that change happens when knowledge and experiences are shared through which new possibilities and alternative ways of being are highlighted.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Hi Mandy! Working with you has been wonderful. Very validating, kind, and empathetic. You really helped me see things in a new light that would have been difficult to do so on my own. I wasn't sure about starting therapy over telehealth, but I'm so glad I was matched with you!

Mandy listens and understands me. She has helped me in aspects of my life that past therapists weren't able to dive in like Mandy. There were a couple of weeks I hadn't reached out to her and she checked in with me. It feels nice to have a therapist that I can trust. I trust she is always steering me in the right direction. I appreciate her support during this weird time.
