Welcome to Better Help!
My name is Stacie Billingsley, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois. I earned my Master of Arts degree, specializing in Human Development Counseling, from Bradley University in 2007. I've worked in different settings with individuals, couples, and families who have a variety of personal issues such as depression/anxiety, stress, family problems, trauma/abuse, addictions of all kinds, relationships/parenting and more. I understand that at times the stressors we face in life can become overwhelming and having someone to talk to or find support in can make a difference. I understand that at times the difficulties, stressors, and emotions that humans face can seem troublesome to overcome and having support during this time in life is important.
You are welcome to message me anytime through BetterHelp. The frequency with which you can have access to a counselor to work through day to day emotions and problem-solving is extremely beneficial for most and a nice change from traditional outpatient counseling. I usually check messages twice each day Monday-Friday.
I offer messaging, live chat, video, and phone sessions with availability Mondays-Thursdays morning, afternoon, and evenings.
Please note that what you see in my calendar may not reflect my only availability, so feel free to check in with me to find a time that works well for you. One 30-45 minute live session a week through livechat or phone, followed by messaging back and forth on the platform tends to work well for many people; however, there may be times where this contact increases or decreases depending upon the person.
I have experience in Relationship issues, Family conflicts, Trauma and abuse, Intimacy-related issues, Parenting issues, Anger management, Self-esteem, Career difficulties, Bipolar Disorder, Stress, Anxiety, Addictions, LGBT, Grief, Depression and other areas.
I look forward to working with you!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Overall rating:
Stacie is patient, kind and always available for her clients. I am grateful for matching with her. She has helped me during some dark moments. She’s become a good friend.
Stacie has been really supportive and helpful.
One of the only people I can be vulnerable with
Stacey is extremely patient, kind and willing to listen. I went from extremely shy and introverted to being the most vulnerable I've ever been with another human being. She's very understanding and empathetic to all of my problems, no matter how small, and I always feel 1000% better after doing a video call with Stacie :)
I've been working with Stacie for a while now, and I find her to be compassionate and professional and that our time is really helping me.
Stacie has been amazing working with me. She is always there for me and it is sad that schedules changed. Anyone that is assigned her is in good hands. Thank you!
Stacie is uncannily receptive and supportive: she is patient, honest and authentic and she sees, understands and helps me when nobody else can. I always feel better after talking with her as she helps bring ease and space into my life. Stacie is always present and has held space for me to be open and honest since day one. I couldn’t be more grateful.
Stacie has been absolutely amazing. We've been having sessions close to a year now, and she is a perfect match for my needs in a therapist. When I started with Stacie it was a lot of me just, "word barfing" and allowing myself to be vulnerable. Through the connection we made she was able to help me synthesize what I was thinking and feeling and lead me in a direction that would literally change my life for the better. It was a LOT of work to get to where I am today, my last session with Stacie, but she was there to support and guide me into a place where I feel confident, content, and loved by the people around me. Be real, be vulnerable, be ready to put in some work, and Stacie can help you reflect in such a supportive and caring way. LGBTQIA+ Friendly <3
She is the best...

I honestly and truly don’t know where I’d be without Stacie. Thank you so much
She is always there and provides help when needed.
She is very understanding and helpful and she listens but also gives really good feedback
Stacie is a great listener and helps guide you through your thoughts. I would highly recommend.
She is absolutely amazing. I’ve been looking for a good therapist for a while and I feel like Stacie is “the one”. Truly caring and amazingly insightful. I feel so comfortable to “word barf” and I know she’ll be able to understand and process what I’m trying to say and how I’m feeling. 12/10 would recommend.
In just a few sessions, Stacie has helped me tremendously. I feel so comfortable with her and she really understands my issues and has given me the tools and confidence to deal with them.
Stacie has just been fantastic. She is attentive and very easy to talk to. Paired with our sessions she also sends resources for work and reflection outside of Betterhelp.
Stacie Billingsley has been absolutely wonderful. I feel like I'm being heard and that I'm getting counseling based on me and my particulard, not just a bunch of random and generic things being spewed at me. She is thoughtful, very responsive, and so far it has been making me very hopefuly that I'll be able to get myself into a place that I want to be to live my life fully.
She is great and will help.
Stacie is compassionate, supportive, and well-versed in her craft.
I’ve only had 2 sessions so far but Stacie is very supportive and understanding. Answers my messages very quickly and takes time to get to know me. I would absolutely recommend Stacie to someone looking for help, especially for people who are like me, who are nervous about beginning therapy.
Stacie is amazing! She is very patient with me and is very open minded. She is very mindful and aware of all the current situations.. i dunno the word for it but she is “woke” which I love!
shes awesome.
Stacie is awesome. She stays engaged and provides me with ideas when I seem to be drifting.
Stacey is very supportive and caring.
Stacie is very easy to talk with. It’s like having a friend that can hear what’s on my mind without having to feel uneasy about the conversation.
Stacie’s superpower is her ability to assess and respond with helpful, accurate information in an amazing real time! Clearly an experienced professional! Well done and thank you!
I am so grateful for my wonderful therapist. She’s my best friend supporting me through my journey.
Amazing counselor!!
Would definitely recommend Stacie to others! She’s very knowledgeable and flexible, adapts the sessions to my needs.
In the short time I have used Betterhelp Stacie has been a guiding light in my journey to become a better person. I came initially to discuss some relationship matters & anger management as well as some more delicate personal matters. Stacies support & encouragement has really enabled me to understand myself better, personal triggers that I was previously blissfully unaware of. I feel overall better equipped to handle my own anger & this has in turn enabled me to build a stronger more valuable relationship with my wife & family.
She truly has helped me through a lot of issues I’ve had and made me into a better person. People in my life have commented on what an improvement they’ve seen. So I can’t thank her enough. She cares about me and makes me feel seen like no one else does. It means the world. Thank you.
Stacie is incredible! I love the way she challenges me so that I can dig deep down and find the answers I’m looking for inside myself. She’s very attentive and patient, even when I ramble on for minutes on end. I feel like we make progress every time we speak, whether that be via phone or messaging. I could not recommend Stacie enough and I am very grateful that she is the one helping me along my journey!
13 years in the game, Stacie has the experience needed. She makes it so you feel you have the support you need to feel better for real. I feel more confident in who I am, and I am better with Stacie around to help me.
Been an amazing listener and supporter so far :)
She is a great help! She is helping me through a difficult time.
Stacie is very competent and really works to understand the needs and struggles of her clients. She responds quickly to messages and journal entries, showing her commitment to her client's struggles. She has a delightful personality and is easy to talk to. She has helped me see possibilities which before were obscured by my trauma. I can strongly recommend her to anyone who needs a safe, sane and bright beacon in a storm!
Never having used this kind of format, I was a little ambivalent. I’m actually quite pleased with it, and feel I was well matched to my counselor. I appreciate the ease of at-home counseling.
