Natalie has been great! She has provided worksheets and homework to get me to start thinking and ways to help with the areas I struggle with. She has been very respectful and understanding and she really listens to my needs and concerns. The thing I enjoy most is that she helps give other alternatives to help me understand who I am and how to approach life situations.

Welcome! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Professional Counselor’s Supervisor and holistic health advocate. I believe that our bodies and minds are deeply connected and work together which means they must be treated together. I also believe that each therapy session and treatment plan should be as unique as you are and, together, we work to get to the root of your symptoms and develop a targeted plan for overall wellbeing. My clients will tell you that this personalized approach helps them make breakthroughs, understand themselves on a deeper level and ultimately resolve any confusion, anxiety or depression that cause them distress.

I am a certified trauma specialist and a certified Dialectical Behavior Therapy specialist. In addition, I use Emotionally Focused Therapy techniques as well as traditional Psychoanalytic Theory in sessions. I use an integrative and collaborative approach with each client I work with to determine which approach works best. The goal is for you to recognize your strengths and abilities, understand your motivations, and implement proven techniques in a structured way to cultivate real results and change.

Note: I am located on the East Coast in the U.S and am in the Eastern Standard Time zone. I typically schedule during business hours on the weekdays in EST. Please ensure that your time zone and my time zone will be compatible for the hours that you prefer counseling. Thank you!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Natalie is truly the best. I took a haitus from therapy for almost a year and when I came back , Natalie was there for me. She remembered everything we talked about from previous sessions and made me feel so heard and understood. I highly recommend her for anyone out there who needs someone to talk to. I have recommended Natalie Wakeley and Betterhelp to a few family members and to my best friend, who signed up for Betterhelp in hopes of having Natalie assigned as her therapist. She received a different therapist and has only just begun, so I'm not sure how she feels about it at this point. Natalie listens and I feel that she is empathetic, sympathetic, compassionate, professional, asks the right questions in a way that are easy to answer, gives me advice and feedback that make so much sense, and she puts me at complete ease. She also lets it be known that she takes the time to read each journal entry, worksheet, and message that I send and responds with exactly what I need between sessions. I've been told by several doctors that I've needed to see a therapist, but I was always too scared or skeptical. I'm so thankful that with God's guidance, I'm working on myself with such a wonderful therapist. I HIGHLY recommend Natalie.

Natalie was so helpful to me, she helped me see things from a different perspective and helped me to be more confident in setting boundaries and taking care of myself. She is not afraid to tell me the hard truths, but always did it in a kind and loving way. I so appreciate her kindness and expertise and will recommend her to anyone seeking therapy! This was my first time in therapy so I was nervous, but Natalie made things easy and comfortable. Thank you so much for all of your help, Natalie!

Natalie is amazing- she is the best therapist I’ve had to date. She understands me and has helped me dig into my past and work through various traumatic experiences. She’s a very comforting and supportive person and she gives me lots of helpful exercises and tips to use every week.

I have never had a therapist who understood me so well and was encouraging but really listened to where I’m coming from. I am so grateful to have met her and work with her on my goals

Reviewed November 2022

Ive struggled a lot with finding the right therapist for me but I've really never felt more confident in a therapist's expertises as I am in Natalie. Its pretty obvious very quickly she's a cut about the rest than what you typically find on better help. None of that feeling like your problems are trivial or that you are just paying to have someone listen to you rant about things. She actively is listening and knows just the right thing to say to get you nudge you in a relevant or positive direction. Really can't recommend her enough!

It's Ben, and you have been incredibly helpful for me. It's hard for me to open up to people, and the process of opening up to you let me see so much of whats going on. I am not an easy person to work with, I don't express myself well, especially off the bat, and I am incredibly defensive, and you have been helping me get past that, more than you know.

Although I have only had one session with Natalie I already enjoy how she strikes a balance between letting me ramble and offering professional input during our session. I like that she doesn’t have a ridged schedule for our session but let’s me talk with her about what is on my mind. She is also great at responding to messaging in addition to the video calls.

Reviewed May 2022

She was great and had a lot of tools to use to help with depression and anxiety

Natalie has helped me immensely. She is patient , helpful and such a kind, lovely & thoughtful person. She has given me the space and environment to open up, talk about my concerns and work on myself and different coping strategies and techniques. I am so thankful to have her as my therapist.

Natalie feels like a friend to whom I can confide anything. She is incredibly supportive and doesn't beat around the bush. She has done wonders for my personal philosophy and she challenges my personal demons with the effort to helping me shed the darkness in which I'm always consuming myself. I have nothing but positive regards towards her.

Reviewed March 2022

Natalie is amazing! She is very supportive, understanding and listens very well. I am very positive that I will start to feel alot better with more sessions with her

Reviewed January 2022

Natalie has been very helpful in the few months that I’ve been working with her. She takes my rambling and helps me untangle them so that the problems become more clear and easier to tackle. She’s available via the chat pretty often and responds within a day for most of my messages. She also reminds me to watch out for triggers or behaviours, and those reminders are great because sometimes I’m not even aware that that’s how I’m thinking or behaving. I’ve really enjoyed working with her and feel like I can trust her with the things I share and for her to help me find some solutions and coping mechanisms.

Reviewed January 2022

Natalie is the most effective, thoughtful, and motivating therapist I have ever worked with. She has been vital to my healing and I feel immensely grateful to have been matched with her.
