I am a licensed therapist in Georgia. I have over 10 years of experience in the mental health field. My specialties are working with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, stress management issues, and coping with life changes. I have experience with the following areas: mood disorders (particularly Bipolar Disorder and Major Depressive Disorder), anxiety, anger management, addiction, crisis stabilization, et-al. I operate from an eclectic Cognitive Behavioral theoretical perspective employing core concepts of humanism, and social work principles such as self determination and beneficence. I also incorporate elements of strengths based, solution focused, motivational interviewing and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I enjoy using meditation/relaxation exercises including guided imagery, body scan meditation, mindfulness, and progressive muscle relaxation.
I graduated with my Master's degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Georgia in 2014. During my career I have enjoyed working with children, adolescents, adults, families and groups. I have worked as a Therapist in a Structured Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Program, a Substance Abuse Counselor in a Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program, a Child & Adolescent Group Therapist for a private practice, a Mental Health Counselor for the Georgia Department of Corrections, a Mobile Crisis Behavioral Health First Responder for the Georgia Crisis Access Line, a Behavioral Health Clinician in an Intellectual /Developmental Disability Crisis Home, and as a Social Work Graduate Assistant for the Department of Juvenile Justice. It would be a great pleasure to work with you and assist you in navigating the challenges you face.

Jason is always willing to talk about what I feel is bothering me and provides constructive feedback
Jason is awesome, makes me feel like we’re just two friends having a conversation instead of a therapy session. Very relatable and offers great perspective.
He truly cares about my problems and he’s always there when I need him.
Great!
Very welcoming! made me feel very easy to talk to this guy !
Kind, open, and a very attentive listener. He seems to really understand what I am trying to get out of our sessions.
Jason is a great therapist. He offers honest constructive feedback, asks the right questions, makes me feel heard, and remembers our discussions. He holds me accountable and makes sure I stay aligned with my goals. And he understands and has experience in my issues. Great guy.
Great listener and not afraid to ask questions to make one think
Jason Byram so far is doing great work. I'm having a better understanding of self regulation as well as setting health boundaries. I feel heard and validated. Most importantly he is very honest with me he isn't just aimlessly agreeing when he doesn't. He has also provided me with homework like worksheets so I can learn on my own while working with him to improve my unlining problems. Highly recommend
Jason has been a great coach through a major change in my life. I was very reluctant to start therapy but have found it to be a tremendous help. I would highly recommend Jason to anyone especially those uncomfortable with the idea of seeing a therapist.
I have only had a few sessions with Jason, but he is already helping me in extremely tangible ways, which is invaluable. It is too early on to give a fully fleshed out review, but initial impressions are great, and am looking forward to working with him further
Jason is a huge blessing for me. His communication skills and way of speaking in a way that appeals to the logical and emotional side of me is a huge help. Best therapist I ever had.
Jason has been a fantastic listener. I like that he doesn't judge me for my actions, but helps me to analyze the underlying causes and stressors. I look forward to our weekly meetings as I always come away with a deeper understanding of why I feel the way I do and the tools I need to improve.
He's great. Very insightful and helpful.
He is very direct and confident
Good listens but firm in trying to give advice won’t give you a line to make you feel good
Jason are extremely supportive and resourceful. He offers a lot of different tools for me to get thru my issues.
Definitely helped me overcome some things I didn’t even know I was dealing with. Super thankful for him!

Speaking with Jason feels very natural - conversation isn’t forced and he helps me see things from a different perspective. I enjoy feeling as if he is my friend, who isn’t quite my friend. Would definitely recommend a friend see him!
This is my first experience with therapy and it has been overall pleasant. Jason has listened to all of my concerns and has helped me see things in a different perspective. He has also helped me approach tough subjects with ease. I would highly recommend him as a therapist!
Jason is very practical and very understanding. After one session I had improvement.
Jason is very helpful and thoughtful.
I've only had one session with Jason so far due to my busy schedule but he was amazing and helpful in just one session alone, which is incredible. I noticed a positive change in my behavior and thoughts after speaking to him that helped me in many circumstances throughout that following week. I will definitely be booking more sessions with him and encourage others to as well.
Fantastic
He is amazing.
I'm happy that I took the time to start meeting with Jason. He takes the time to learn what you are struggling with and helps you take action. He involves humor into the conversation which makes him really easy to talk to. We were able to go over various topics together and each time we met, I felt constructive work was accomplished. Our sessions were always efficient and helpful. Jason is great at what he does and I definitely recommend his services.

Jason is a great guy! He really help me to work through some anxiety issues. He provided a lot of good resources for me to use in dealing with future situations. I have recommended him to other people as well.
Jason is an awesome help, he made some uncomfortable situations feel normal to me and gave me a great plan on how to get back to my “normal”. Great guy to speak with!
Jason is a great counselor, empathetic and easy to get along with. He understands what I’m feeling and not only directly helps me process what I’m going through, but also gives me tools to deal with issues on my own. We’re only a few sessions in, but I’m very happy with what we’ve accomplished so far.
Jason provides positive support and reassurance. This has given me the confidence to work through some very tough situations. He listens and responds accordingly. We have outlined some targeted goals and set boundaries that helps to keep me focused during pivotal moments in my life. Jason is empathetic during our therapy sessions. As a female, it has been a pleasant experience to work with a male counselor and I have found the sessions with Jason to be educational. He teaches cognitive and emotional skills, self care and coping mechanisms for individualized treatment.
Jason has become a great friend over the course of just a few short months of counseling. I can't say enough good about Jason, great guy and great couselor
Jason made me feel comfortable and at ease with the therapy process, which is something I thought would be impossible. He listened and engages so that it's more like a conversation and less like you're just talking at someone.
Jason is very insightful to my situation & needs. He gives me great direction, goals, & helps me to find success in my journey. I appreciate his attention to detail & expertise. I look forward to every session.
I have only had one phone session with Jason but he was very easy to talk to. I felt like I could open up to him and not be judged. He seemed to be genuinely interested in helping me and listening to me.

Jason is awesome. He takes time to get to know you and learn how to most effectively help and communicate with you. Will work with him again.
Jason is very attentive in my opinion and has helped me by verbally expressing himself as well as sending written tools/assignments that will assist with my mental health.
I appreciate Jason's insights. He sees things in me that I don't. This has been invaluable in my growth and development.
Jason is fantastic. He's given me many new, healthy ways of coping. And so many resources to help me.
I've only had one session with Jason but from that one it already changed my view on life and how to manage my emotions. Strongly recommend Jason for young men in their early 20s navigating through life just as I am. Very helpful and responsive.
He is really good at both listening and speaking the right stuff
So far, Jason has shown that he listens to me and remembers my concerns and aspects about my life and personality. He uses his own experiences along with observations about mine to stimulate change. Jason asks the right questions and allows me to talk openly about my goals and hopes. Jason is compassionate and friendly and he is very encouraging.
He is so understanding and a great listener! I was able to realize my worth and remembered to focus on what makes me happy rather than negative past experiences.
Extremely observant and has an ability to connect like a long time friend. Has a great sense of direction and time when in an hour long session.
I’ve been meeting with Jason for a few weeks and he’s been a really great counselor. In addition to suggesting tangible things I can do to move past personal problems and improve my mental state, he’s been very responsive and a great listener during our video sessions. I’d definitely recommend him!
Jason is the best
When I joined Better Help i expected that a professional and I would dissect my brain and personality and would basically be working on me like a robot that needed to be fixed. Jason showed me that it wasn’t going to be like that, and that he’s a person trying to help a person. He’s helped me with compassion and understanding and kindness. While still an expert in his field, he has taken the time to help me dissect my brain and personality and understand it all better with a lot more kindness than i expected.
Great counselor, very responsive and helpful
