I have enjoyed my sessions with Kendra. She has a pretty great knack at listening to my rambling (that I feel is nonsense) and pointing out how pieces of it relate to how I know myself and already have the tools to progress in my issues. I have rarely ever experienced someone who can decipher me, and its been unbelievably refreshing and helpful to talk to someone who just picks up on these things. Not only that, but seems to pull out of my mind things that were on my mind, but I hadn't directly brought up. I am excited to see how I can progress with her guidance, as at each step she has an actionable step for me to take.

More about Kendra

  • 3 years' experience
  • Female
  • LCSW, LISW-CP

My name is Kendra O'Berry and I am a LCSW. I have 3 years of experience working with clients with a range of concerns from stress and anxiety to aging and terminal illnesses. I received my Bachelors in English and my Masters in Social Work from Valdosta State University. My therapeutic approaches are not one size fits all. I have experience with using CBT, motivational interviewing, mindfulness/relaxation techniques, existential therapy, solution focus therapy, and a humanistic/person centered approach. However, the methods and techniques I use in session depend entirely on the client's needs. I like to think of myself as a guide on the journey to healing, and the client is the person driving the boat. I enjoy helping clients formulate their own goals and helping them reach those goals in a way that is conducive for long term change/healing and fits the client's life the way they see best. I would be able to help clients not only find their individual voices, but teach them skills on how to use them to help them live the life they want to live.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
