About Me
Life is a journey of twists and turns, hills and valleys, good times, and not so good times.
My name is Jacquelyn Mentor and I have experienced many difficult times such as the loss of a child, parents, and husband. At one time I was a divorced and remarried, which made me a single parent for a few years. I was a care taker for both my parents, plus I am a breast cancer survivor. I am survivor, because of my faith, family , friends, and professional help.
I have a B. S. and M.S. degree in Psychology. I also earned an Ed.D degree in Counseling Psychology. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Supervisor. My experience includes over twenty decades of working with families in the areas of domestic violence, child abuse, marital counseling, developmental disabilities, school issues, parenting skills, widowhood, anger management, behavioral issues, conflict resolution, relationship problems ,trauma, and crisis issues.
My goal is to listen, be non-judgmental, supportive, be sympathetic , empathetic , be respectful, and provide a warm safe confidential environment. I will also provide you with some tools in the form of helpful resources, because psychoeducation is very important. The therapeutic relationship will be genuine, friendly, relaxing, calm, and professional. Overall, I am trustworthy and have a passion for helping people.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.
Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Most amazing therapist ever! She personalizes my experience and supports me
Will never be able to fully express how grateful I am for Dr. Mentor’s expertise and time. She’s been instrumental in the loss of my mom, dad and big sis. she’s been God sent!
She is patient and kind. But most of all supportive.
She is a well educated and respected person, she know how to help you with your marital issue so you can be happier
Grateful for Dr. Mentor’s expertise. She has helped tremendously in my daily life and grieving process. Couldn’t be more grateful!!
Dr. Mentor is awesome! I was a little nervous to start therapy anticipating what it may bring up from my past, but taking with her feels like I am just having a chat with a friend! She wasn’t pushy and made feel so comfortable. She’s even helping me with choosing my college major and making sure I know what I am getting into and what the next step is. Can’t wait to chat again soon!
She is sweet and caring and listens
Soooooo grateful for Dr. Mentor!
Dr. Mentor has the gift of sensing the real issue behind my discussion and offering tools, support, and compassion. I feel so fortunate to be working with her!
I can't write enough praises for Dr. Mentor! First of all, she is extremely knowledgeable and also offers numerous resources to support any issue we are discussing. Additionally, she is attentive, supportive, incredibly compassionate, and fun when appropriate. I feel so fortunate to have been linked with her!
I pursued therapy for stress and anxiety. Dr. Mentor took time to understand what I was pursuing therapy for and addressed the issue without losing sight of the holistic picture.
She's an understanding, empathetic, and kind therapist. She has been great at working with me through all of my struggles in dealing with my childhood traumas, working through them, processing them, and coming to terms with all the emotions that come with it. She has also been very helpful with how to react when dealing with toxic people and family members. She has helped me realize about personal power and about how important boundaries are. She has made me realize a lot of things and how toxic my childhood was. She made me realize how some of my coping mechanism were from my traumatic upbringing. She has shined the light on the things I thought were "normal" to be unhealthy. She is helping me grow as a person by shinning a light on things I didn't realize and how to respond in healthier ways.
Dr. Mentor's wisdom and compassion is not something that is frequently found. Her commitment towards helping those with whom she works is a treasure - that alone offers growth. Then, to couple that with her suggestions and guidance, hope and inspiration that obstacles can be dealt with in one's life follows.
Dr. Mentor has been a tremendous help throughout this process. She is extremely knowledgeable and always gives me the best advice. In addition to that, she is someone you can connect with, trust and confide in. She has went above and beyond to reach out to me throughout the week to check on me or send positivity my way that I needed at that moment. It’s that extra touch that makes the world of a difference and something you need in that time. I highly recommend her to help you through your difficult time, you will not regret it, she is amazing!
