Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

With over 20 years of experience, Joan really understands what it takes to help her clients make changes in their life. I appreciate her kindness, understanding, and down to earth nature. I have seen real results in very little time, which was the most important thing for me when selecting a therapist. I tried about 10 different therapists before finding Joan, and they were all very nice, but I needed knowledge. I am looking forward to making even more positive changes in my life.

Joan is so caring and thoughtful. She is an excellent communicator and I really appreciate her insight. She has a very calming way about her and helps me find what works for me by asking questions that help me find my way. I am starting art therapy thanks to Joan, and it’s exactly what I needed to help get started with a meditative practice that works for me. Joan is an excellent therapist.

Joan has helped me so much on my journey to get better. Since I started with BetterHelp a couple months ago I have already been feeling like my old self. I do still have bad days and know that there is still a long journey for me to get better, Joan keeps me on track and helps me find my way back on the right path. If it wasn’t for her or this app I don’t know where’d I’d be right now

Joan is such a kind, patient person and has helped me tremendously. I thoroughly look forward to our sessions. She doesn’t judge, but gives you many coping mechanisms while talking to you. You can tell she truly cares. It feels like a blessing that I found her and chose to speak with her. Highly recommended!! ❤️

Reviewed May 2021

Joan was able to quickly identify core issues in a very short amount of time, which was very impressive. She was very attentive and responsive when I most needed help, and provided exercise materials that I either requested, or definitely needed but I myself didn't know what to ask for. She is very experienced, and highly empathetic. Her calm but firm reassurance was a huge confidence booster and self reassurance for me. I ended therapy not because of Joan but because I want to take the next step on my own, but if I return to Betterhelp I'd love to work again with Joan.

Reviewed May 2021

I really like how caring Joan is. She asks questions which helps me get things out and sort out my thoughts.

It has been wonderful having you there for me. I think that it helps a lot to have someone like you!
