Hello! I’m glad you’re taking the time to read about me and hope we might be a “fit” in your journey to find a therapist. Taking this first step can be scary and finding a person you trust and connect with is vital. You are fortunate to have many options available - take your time, read many profiles, and reach out if you have any questions after reading my overview.

As a Florida Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have been providing individual and couples therapy for over 25 years. My career has taken me from the VA Medical system, to community work, to private practice. Along the way, I’ve gained experience assisting people in the areas of depression, anxiety, relationship problems, career transitions, and other life challenges.

When life is spinning out of control, talking things out with an experienced therapist can help you find your way again. I enjoy working with people to manage the moods and anxieties that accompany all life transitions, including relationship change, employment shifts, and family adjustments. I have spent many years specializing in the needs of women and the changes that take place during the perinatal and postpartum period. As both a therapist and a mom to three, I personally recognize the joys and challenges that come with the journey to parenthood, special needs children, and the teenage years!

During therapy, I take an eclectic, but client-centered approach. This means that therapy will be tailored to you – your individual history, beliefs, concerns, and strengths. This may involve using solution-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, or any integrative approach to explore your emotions and work toward mutually agreed upon therapy goals.

Together, I believe we can develop strategies to help you lead a more fulfilling life and I hope you believe the same. If not, please keep looking – it will be worth it!

I look forward to meeting you!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Michele Serda was assigned to me through BetterHelp based on my information. I could not have asked for a better sounding board. She asked questions and listened. She let me talk even when I went off topic a bit, then she found a way to bring me back without discounting what I just said. I appreciate that she was willing to meet with me through any form of contact. Highly recommend.

Michelle is an amazing therapist. I was immediately put at ease by her demeanor and she listens without judgement and challenges me to reframe some of the hasher self-deprecating opinions I have. I have been treating with her consistently for a year now and I am confident that I would not have been able to get through the last year as unscathed as I did without her guidance and help.

Michelle is incredibly responsive and helps her clients feel like they still have a secure relationship with their therapist regardless if she knows they're having a tough week. She is incredible. Thank you.

I have only been with Michelle for a couple of weeks but her attentiveness and focus on what is important for me is incredibly encouraging. I have been with other therapists and I feel like Michelle "gets me" when others either had no interest or had their own experiences they were bringing to the table. Michelle is not like them and I'm happy I have been matched with her.

Reviewed March 2021

Michelle is a wonderful and supportive counselor and I highly recommend her services. She listens very well, understood my problems, and recommended really helpful and practical solutions. I found myself using her advice repeatedly throughout the week, so she really helped me shift my mindset on a daily basis. After a few weeks of speaking with her, I saw a significant improvement in my symptoms and lifestyle. I am in a better place now than I was a few weeks ago before I got connected with Michelle. I recommend Michelle to others who are seeking support for depression, anxiety, or other challenges in their lives.
