Welcome to BetterHelp! Glad you found your way here and are reaching out! Every therapist is different and unique - just like you - so I hope this introduction gives you a better feel for who I am and what I try to offer. I have worked all over the USA in different settings - mostly just helping out. I have lived mostly in Ohio & Florida - but did internships in Roanoke, VA, Souix Falls, South Dakota, & Mobile/Tuscaloosa, AL. I do tend to focus on the positive, self-care, and solutions - actual tips and techniques to apply - than just talking alone. I do believe the way we talk to ourselves matters - so I do try to point out negative thoughts. This is the basis of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (which has proven to be very effective!). I have worked with all walks of life and am very non-judgmental and open-minded. I do try to use an eclectic / comprehensive approach - using whatever I can that will work best for you. The techniques are all Evidence-Based Therapies - the founders that I would say I pull the most from are Rogers, Maslow, Beck, Burns, Gottman, Shiparo, Linehan, and Kubler-Ross. The methods of these Psychologists are Unconditional Positive Regard, CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy. If any of this sounds what you are looking for - Hope to be of comfort for your journey and to be service!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
