Hi, and thank you for looking at my profile! My name is Melissa and I am excited to meet you. Let me introduce myself and what I am about.

I received both my bachelor's degree and master's degree at the University of West Florida in psychology and mental health counseling. Since then, I have attained my license in Mental Health counseling and am working on my marriage and family license currently.

My love of counseling began at my internship in a residential shelter working with homeless/runaway youth, families, and foster families. Since then, I have been working in a non-profit company working with a wide array of clients, including adults, young adults, families, adolescents, and children. I have several years of doing parenting education experience, as well as more than 5 years of counseling experience as well. I have been trained and certified in a variety of therapies, including cogntive behavioral, EMDR, and other trauma focused therapies. My passion is helping individuals and families achieve their potential through finding their strengths and working towards change.

I am here to listen and help. Have a great day!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
