Hi, I am Paul Weaver a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. I work with individuals, couples, and families that are experiencing distress, difficulty, & challenges related to relational issues and emotional distresses. I have worked as a private practice clinician for 5 years and have experience working with an array of issues such as; adjustment difficulties & life transitions, anxiety & depression, PTSD, sexuality & intimacy, trauma, and addiction.

As a Marriage & Family Therapist I am specialized in looking for ways to find connection and emotional wellness in times of grief, suffering, and dysfunction in ways that help my clients find ways forward, enact change, or find security, and stabilization in the midst of pain and distress. I am a client centered therapist and my therapeutic approach is informed by Emotional Focused Therapy. What this means is that my hope as a clinician is offer a space of safety for my clients so that their needs and desires can be heard and interacted with.

There is no "one size fits all" strategy to therapy and the most important feature to any therapist is their ability to see & hear you and your unique situation.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

While I was apprehensive about signing up for this service, I'm so glad I did because Paul is, without question, the best counsellor I could have hoped for. He feels like a friend who understands and is able to convey what I'm feeling even when I can't for myself. He also offers the most objective, simple but ridiculously effective advice that has been enabling me to work through my issues. Every session is a breakthrough and I couldn't do it without him!
