Hi there! I'm glad you've taken a step toward self-care by reaching out to us at BetterHelp. I've been a licensed mental health counselor in private practice for over 20 years and have provided therapy for a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and marital and family conflict. I am a warm and active listener, and believe that the counseling process should be collaborative. In the therapeutic relationship, we will work together to discover your strengths and weaknesses, the things that drive you, and the solutions to your struggles. I am compassionate , non-judgmental, and ready to help you along your journey. In addition to Cognitive-Behavioral therapy, I use a variety of counseling theories and work hard to tailor the counseling process to fit what each person needs. As a person of Christian faith, I also incorporate a spiritual component in therapy for those who are open and interested in exploring their own spiritual beliefs and growth.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of South Carolina and Master's degrees in Marriage & Family Therapy and Education from Southwestern Seminary, but I also have plenty of life experience that is sometimes even more important than my degrees! Life is hard and full of trials for all of us, but I have learned that each difficulty we face can bring about deeper maturity and enduring hope for the future. I look forward to being a part of your journey!

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Elizabeth is a very compassionate therapist and person. What I loved most about her was that she never minimized my trauma and hurt, even when I was so prone to doing that myself. This was really important because it allowed me to come to terms with my trauma and start the healing process instead of pretending it wasn't a big deal when it really was. She focused on my strengths and helped me see them as well-this was difficult for me, but it was definitely needed in order to keep moving forward. At the same time, however, she didn't rush, and gave me space and time to talk and process my hurt and trauma, which was so tremendously healing. She is very skilled in her expertise. She also worked around her schedule to meet with me and I truly appreciate that. Thank you.

Beth Griffin is a God send. In a moment of despair, I looked on the internet for therapy and/counseling groups which offered online programs. When I saw the Faithful Counseling, I was actually surprised that this type of help could be offered in such a format. I was at such a low place, I honestly didn’t think anyone could help, but I completed the form and in less than one day was matched with Beth. From our first introduction, I felt this was someone to whom I could bare my heart and not be judged or ridiculed. She is kind, gentle in her suggestions, loving in her answers, and always encouraging. In two weeks I made more progress toward mental health than I have made in nearly a lifetime.
