Lynette has helped me a lot! She has challenged me, nurtured me, and relieved me. She is a great listener (takes notes and everything!) but gives constructive criticism where due. She is warm and professional at the same time. She is non-judgmental and has made me feel more and more okay. I am not crazy. These feelings, thoughts, impulses are completely normal and there are ways to work on them. This is the longest I’ve been in therapy by far and I think that is due to Lynette.

More about Lynette

My name is Lynette Maggs and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida. I started my practice in a community mental health agency in the state of Florida gaining a wealth of knowledge and perspective of the scope of mental illness within our communities. This led me down the path to specialize in areas such as the welfare of children and families affected by trauma and its impact not only on the individual, the family but also the entire community. I have worked with families and individuals who have experienced anxiety, depression, abuse/neglect, parenting difficulties, addiction, stress, loss, and the day to day hurdles each of us face in life.

I would describe my approach as empathetic, warm, goal oriented, and client centered. I use Cognitive Behavioral therapy, as well as Client Focused therapy as the basis to my therapeutic approach to help my clients set goals and objectives, work through their traumas, and feel empowered once they have met their goals.

I earned my Bachelor Degree through attending universities in the eastern U.S as my family traveled with my husband in his Coast Guard career. My Master Degree from Liberty University, Virginia in Mental Health Counseling. I have been practicing in the field for the past 20 years with a wealth of training and experiences prior to this time.

I believe humor is essential as we face our hurdles in life and this has been lent to me through the 36 years of marriage, a daughter and navigating this all through 20 years of military life.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Lynette is the only one who has helped me with a long list of issues. She has expressed that she will not give up, and goes well out of her way to explore different ways to approach each issue. She is the only psychiatric professional l have trusted completely.

Thank you Lynette! You listened intently, understood, researched, responded and helped me during a very turbulent period in my life. Lynette is the counselor you’ve been looking for. She is like a friend, but one that asks you the really hard questions. She knows what the root of the problem is and she’s knows how to help you resolve it. Mental heath concerns are no walk in the park, but Lynette is the person you want holding your hand and the map.

Lynette has truly helped me with my mental health. From suffering from panic attacks every other day to now feeling more in control of myself, Lynette had my trust all through and it helped me work on myself. I've learned a few significant things through the way she listens and offers advice. I learned that healing is a process which is not time bound and is different from person to person and isn't a measure of their inner strength. I learned that I shouldn't be so hard on myself when Lynette tells me 'its still fresh so of course you're hurting'. She acknowledges my feelings and that is the best part about talking to her. She also does not give me any false hope and tells me how things which I greatly appreciate and puts my mind at ease. She knows what she's doing!

Lynette has been like the little white angel that talks to me from my shoulder. She always helps me to stay positive, sort my thoughts and gets me motivated to self improve! I didn’t have that many sessions with her yet, but every time I go out with a better feelings and new ways to think about my situation. I love it!!
