Hello! I am a License Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado. I am also a Veteran of the United States Air Force. I spent the past four years working in an inpatient program for men coming out of prison and into community corrections. It has taught me about the will and drive to overcome addictions and family history/traumas. The men I worked with inspired me everyday.

My approach to counseling is person centered. You are in charge of what you want to work on. I am an expert of the process of change, but not on you. When we challenge our thoughts, our behavior and actions will change. This is usually the way I would challenge someone who would like to change whatever is causing them discomfort.

I don't give advice as that is not what therapists do. I work with you and help guide you to a better understanding of your issue and then we work together to find a plan to fix the discomfort you were experiencing.

I look forward to having the chance to work with you!

I found Barbara after experiencing a less than ideal session with another therapist. Upon meeting Barbara, I knew immediately that she was a much better fit for me. She is full of patience, compassion, and genuine concern in regards to my needs. She listened to and guided me with the type of communication and feedback that was helpful and refreshing. I am excited to start my healing journey with Barbara and I'm looking forward to a future of peace.

Barbara is a great listener and asks questions that help me question my own old, tired 'stories' that I tell myself.
