Joe has been wonderful and we’ve worked through a lot of my everyday challenges with depression and anxiety. He’s cheerful, energetic and brings so much optimism and open-mindedness to our sessions. His approach is also academic so it helps to contextualise mental health issues within various CBT models, eg figuring out my zone of efficacy and how to work within that. Thanks for all your help Joe!

Joe is a really great listener and he always brings a very positive energy to our conversations. It often takes a lot of courage for people, including me, to reach out for help. However, once I started talking with Joe it all felt so much easier than I expected! He really makes you feel comfortable, like you are talking to a friend who you’ve known for years. The experience he has really comes through in our sessions and I love that he is able to always give me an objective, while at the same time realistic and very well supported by neurological data and facts overview of my own thoughts and feelings. I am very happy with our sessions and I would certainly recommend Joe!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Not only is the concept of BetterHelp lovely, but Joe is really a great counselor. As much as I despise the Judge who ordered me to counseling, I have to thank her, because I would have never come across Joe. I actually just referred this site to a friend. I highly recommend Joe!

Although Joe Christensen's approach to therapy (at least in my case) may be less traditional with more of a focus on internal analysis within an existential framework, I nevertheless found Joe's counseling to be extremely helpful. These sessions helped me re-center my focus and approach life with more confidence, direction, empathy, and tact. I couldn't recommend Joe highly enough.

I started using Betterhelp during a time I felt overwhelmed and cripples by Anxiety and Depression. I did not know what to expect from therapy online, but ever since my first session with Joseph I felt very comfortable with him talking about my personal crisis. Joseph was great at moving the conversation and helping out a lot of things into perspective. Joseph really helped me understand from a scientific and emotional level why I felt the way I felt. Over the roughly three months we worked together I felt a great improvement in my sleep, mood, and learned to better control and understand my anxiety. I am really glad I decided to start Betterhelp and I could not ask for a better counselor.

Joseph is the best therapist I have ever worked with! (Trust me, I have seen a lot!) ;-) I started using Betterhelp during the pandemic. I came to Joseph when I was dealing with a difficult period of time and anxiety/PTSD. I've always felt very comfortable sharing my personal situation because he is very conversational and non judgmental. He deeply cares about his clients and and has been my cheerleader since day 1. We've had good laughs, and I've had some good cries. He is excellent at guiding our conversations and always prompts me to self reflect on what I've learned. It's only been 3 months of working with Joseph and I feel like a new person on the other side. He was able to provide the support and guidance I needed to get through it. I may not have met Joseph if it wasn't for Betterhelp and I highly recommend his expertise!

Joe is really helpful in the short time I've worked with him. I feel at ease discussing things with him that I never taught I could and he breaks down my issues in a very logical way so that I can learn how to challenge them. Positive attitude and willingness to help in any way he can

Mr. Joe is always very positive and a joy to work with. He is also great at breaking down concepts to help you see the bigger picture.

Reviewed February 2021

Joe was an excellent counselor. He was attentive, remembered my details, and was sometimes comfortingly receptive and at other times helpfully directive. He was quick to answer my questions and adapt to my schedule and preferences in terms of how we interacted for each session (sometimes video, sometimes live chat). I’d recommend Joe to anyone.
