Hello and welcome to BetterHelp!

My name is Emily and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California. I first want to commend you on reaching out; the process of finding a counselor or therapist can be daunting, and I appreciate your willingness to give this a try.

My overall style of therapy is relationship-based: I believe the therapeutic relationship (between you and I) can be one of the most effective vehicles for change and growth. I use specific interventions from different theoretical approaches tailored to you and what you want to focus on.

As a therapist, I value my relationships with clients immensely. Every person is unique and their hopes, dreams, fears, strengths, and needs are valid and important. My favorite part of my job is getting to know my clients and I am truly honored and grateful to hear their stories—the good and the bad. My promise to you is to create a safe, nonjudgemental, and confidential space for you to be exactly who you are, and to help you grow and change in a way that feels right for you.

I can’t wait to meet you!

Online counseling allows you to receive care from a mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.

Emily is very professional. Respects my point of view, but yet gives me constructive advise on how to think differently. I like that she validated me, and gives me suggestions at the same time. Very knowledgeable. And is the type of therapist that works with your style of therapy.

Reviewed August 2022

She listens to what I say, and has great suggestions on how to view things differently. She takes time to understand my concerns.

Reviewed April 2022

Emily has been a wonderful therapist for me. From working through concrete distresses in my life to wandering into the depths of my psyche, she has guided me on a very fulfilling journey of self discovery and understanding. Her conversational and relational style helped me trust her a lot, and created such a safe space for all of my stuff to just exist in all its complexity, without judgment.

Reviewed January 2022

She is great!! Definitely has helped me with my goals and is very understanding and makes me feel great!

Reviewed November 2021

Emily is amazing. She provides a safe place to feel completely yourself with no judgement. Where you can feel everything you need to and know that those feelings are completely valid. She listens to you, more than just hearing what you have to say. She listens to how you use your words, how you speak, and what those details might really be saying even if they might be different than your words. She points out your little victories when you may not see them for yourself. She believes in you and you can tell how much she cares. She puts in the effort and uses different methods and resources to help you realize how valuable and worthy you are on your own terms. I’ve learned so much from her, and am so thankful to have sessions with her every week.
