My counselor Christopher Navas has been a huge help to me through some big issues and decisions. He makes me look at things in a different way, and what I think the issue is, sometimes isn't the real issue. Working on myself has never been something I thought I could do, but he has made me do tough things by facing small fears one at a time. I can tell him a anything with complete confidence.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. My primary goal is that my clients feel safe and comfortable with me. I have 10 years of experience working with children, teens and adults. I have had the opportunity to work with parents, children, and individuals, but I focus on parenting strategies, as it is pertinent to raising a family well. Parents often have a hard time talking to their kids, either because they aren't open to it, or the long work hours prohibit them from spending time together. Single parents are often dealt the toughest hand. Managing home and work life is not easy, it can be overwhelming and cause us to burn out. Having someone to vent to may help! Seeking counseling is the first step, and I strive to provide sound direction

I will not pretend to have all of the answers, but I can promise to work with you to find the helpful life solutions. Please try to understand this process, as things become new. I hope you are ready to work, because I may ask you questions, or challenge you to do things that you may not be used to doing. My approach includes cognitive-behavioral training, humanistic and solution-focused therapy. I have a license, but you are the expert in your own life. The more you do on your end, the more I will be able to help. We can always adapt and adjust to continue the course

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Chris is by far the best therapist I have ever had. He makes me feel comfortable, and I feel like I can talk to him about absolutely anything. He always has great insight, and gives me new tools and techniques to move forward. I respect him, and trust his expertise. He is friendly and has a good sense of humor, which are both extremely important in making me feel comfortable. I hope to continue working with Chris as long as it’s possible.

I came to Christopher after having a not so great experience with the only other therapist I had ever talked to. He made me feel so comfortable opening up right away and would also help to guide the session so that it doesn’t get stuck or not go anywhere. As he said himself, he is very direct and to the point and does not want to waste anyone’s time. He will be honest with you and work with you to figure out what it best for your life.

Reviewed August 2020

Christopher was a great help in my first journey with therapy. His advice and wisdom was very beneficial in the time that I had being counseled by him. Wish I could’ve stuck with Better Help but due to some financial reasons I won’t be able to continue. But just wanted to leave this review as a big thanks to Christopher and I’ll carry his advice tips with me from now forward.

Though our schedules didn't line up to have a formal counseling session, Christopher was very pleasant and professional to communicate with.

Reviewed May 2020

Christopher is a wonderful help to me and my partner! He’s doing double the work with having to translate from Spanish to English but he’s doing fabulous and we love our sessions!

Reviewed May 2020

Chris is practical, calm, and knows how to strike the right balance between challenging me to work on myself, and not giving me so much that it's overwhelming. I've been in therapy before, and he ranks right up there with the best therapists I've seen in person.
