Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

I signed up for this service when I was going through a personal crisis and really needed to talk to someone who wouldn’t judge me and would listen and be supportive. I love how I can just text whatever I’m feeling and what my worries are and I know that I’ll get an answer back. The messages don’t always come back right away, but it isn’t a long wait and when I don’t get a reply it’s very thoughtful and reassuring. Bonnie gives me things to consider and ask myself that help me stay positive and learn from my current situation and move on. It’s been so incredibly helpful and made a huge difference in lessening my anxiety.

So grateful for BetterHelp and Bonnie. It has provided me and my boys on-the-go help with flexible scheduling for us. We couldn't get a therapist because we would have to miss school and work.

Reviewed May 2017

Bonnie is great. After matching with a couple different counselors, I finally found her, and I'm so glad I did. She helped me so much while I was wading through the waters of an impending breakup with a long term live-in boyfriend. She listens well, asks great questions, and has helped me to see my own situation more clearly. She is also responsive, and usually gets back to me within 24 hours, even when I write her a novel's worth of text. Thank you!
