I’ve been with Lindsay for over a year now, closer to two I believe. Not only is she always professional and kind, she always has insight or knowledge on any topic. Since I’ve been working with her, I’ve changed my life by leaps and bounds. She’s a beautiful person inside and out, and she has honestly helped me change the direction of my life. I’ve dealt with anxiety and depression from a very young age and for the first time in my life I feel hopeful that I have a happy life ahead of me. Lindsay is the best, and I highly recommend her. There’s nothing you could tell her that she wouldn’t use compassion and structure to help you.

Hi! My name is Lindsay Van Gorder and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Arizona. I have over 10 years of experience working as a counselor. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, substance abuse, health issues, and other stressors. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. Much of my work history has been working with individuals who are living with HIV/AIDS, homeless, and within the LGBTQ community.

My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating people with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines person-centered, humanistic, and solution focused counseling. I am trained in EMDR and believe in the modality and utilize this approach in my care. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change and healing. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
