I started online therapy at a very low and vulnerable place in my life roughly 11 months ago. I was matched with a therapist who was not a good fit for me and luckily I decided to give it another try with another therapist. That was one of my greatest decisions ever. Sean has completely changed my life, my perspective and has allowed me to understand myself, my feelings and my vulnerability. I was very opposed to therapy and now can’t see how I ever lived without it. I am slowly, but surely becoming a new person. When I have set backs, Sean reassures me that it is okay and helps me move forward again. Sean listens, he is empathetic, compassionate and understanding. It really feels like he is a friend who you are catching up with. He makes the sessions comfortable and welcoming. I have never felt judged by Sean and for that I am grateful. Sean is very knowledgeable in his work and I would 100% recommend BH and more specifically, Sean. Thank you for all that you have done for me!

Are you looking to make meaningful change in your life? Do you want to feel more present, authentic and connected to yourself and others? Whether you are feeling stuck in life or are navigating a life-altering event or post-traumatic stress, I am here to provide a safe, nonjudgemental space for you to overcome your obstacles and concerns. I know from both personal and professional experiences that each of us has the ability to awaken to the truth and find our light, even in the darkest of times. I can help guide you back to return home to your innate mental health and true nature, which is peace and wellbeing itself.

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC in both Hawaii and Arizona. I was born and raised here in Phoenix, AZ. I served active duty in the US Navy, then post military became a city firefighter-paramedic in Virginia Beach, VA. I eventually graduated with my BA in Psychology from ASU (Go Devils!). I graduated with my Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Chaminade University of Honolulu in 2016. I've worked as an inpatient therapist with adolescent youth, then moved on to working for the VA in social work with homeless veterans. I started my career in mental health while living in Honolulu, Hawaii for over 6 years and worked with a wide variety of populations of clients in various community and public school settings. My last job in Hawaii was as a Military & Family Life Counselor working with service members and their families at Joint-Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Honolulu. I've since moved back home to Phoenix and became licensed here in Arizona. For the past 3 years, I've been enjoying working as an independent online therapist on various platforms.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Sean really understands my problems and empathizes accordingly, every time. His suggestions are always relevant and he never ceases to help me through whatever it is I have brought with me that week!

Sean is my first counsellor on this platform, and my second overall. And he's been extremely helpful, listening to me, empathising with me and giving me advice on how I can manage my anxiety. I've never felt a such a good week in a while since I got into therapy sessions with him. I'm so grateful I was matched with him for my counsellor. And I highly recommend his expertise that he could really help you if you're struggling with anxiety especially with intrusive thoughts which are debilitating.

Sean helped me step outside of my own perspective to see my issues in a new light. He then helped me build the tools necessary to resolve them. I greatly appreciate the work he has done and how it has improved my life.

Sean is great to talk to and is so relatable that you feel like you're talking to an old friend. Therapy has helped me be more aware of myself and how I was feeding into my own anxiety with my own habits. I've been able to show others close to me that this is a wonderful app and the people with BetterHelp really know what they're doing and care for their patients. Thank you, Sean!
