More about Daniel

  • 13 years' experience

  • LMHC

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Arizona. I received my Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from Barry University. I have been a counselor for the past 13 years and have developed expertise in many areas known as "geek therapy" as well as holding several certifications for the treatment of process addictions (gambling, video games, etc.). Other issues I routinely treat include relationship issues, task management / motivation / procrastination, academic struggles, and many sources of anxiety or depression people face in the regular flow of daily living. I am also a psychology researcher specializing in video game topics and have contributed multiple publications on player types during gameplay, insights for online education, and many other clinical topics if you are interested in knowing about my other work in the field of counseling. I provide counseling services for Individual, Couples, & Families, and am excited to work with all ranges of age from adolescent to older adult groups.

I am a graduate school professor, so in most cases my approach can be tailored to the needs of my individual client. I have spent many years developing my ability to manage client conversations through the lenses of Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution-Focused / Brief, Mindfulness / Acceptance-Commitment, Existential / Person-Centered, and also Narrative therapies. My approach and treatment plans are always chosen based on the needs of the client I am talking to in those moments, so your goals will always be your own when you are working with me. We will work at your pace and decide together what the best path is for your specific journey.

I am excited to meet you and provide the support you are looking for to continue your life's journey!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
