It is an honor to hold space for your experience and all that you have survived that has gotten you to this point. I value connection and authenticity and hope to embody that in our work together.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Arizona. I have worked as a therapist for 5 years, and in human services for 5 years before that. I earned a MA in Counseling from Northern Arizona University in 2015, and a BS in Foreign Service from Georgetown University in 2007.

I use a variety of techniques in my practice to best fit the person and the relationship. I am trained in Somatic Experiencing and the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) for resolving shock and developmental trauma. I use a person-centered approach and incorporate mindfulness, self-compassion, cognitive behavioral and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as relevant. I also think it is useful to analyze social factors that may be affecting mental health.

I have experience working with trauma including domestic violence/unhealthy relationships, sexual assault, child abuse; as well as depression, anxiety, grief, substance abuse, and family issues. I also believe that many of us in this society experience wounds in relationships or not enough of the connection and meaning that we so desperately need as humans. I compassionately acknowledge all the ways we suffer, and all the ways we have adapted to survive. We can also learn tools to notice and evaluate our thoughts, witness and contain our unexpressed emotions, and feel more present in our bodies. I look forward to working with you!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
