Hello, I'm Laura! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Registered Play Therapist and a National Certified Counselor. I graduated with a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Counseling in 2012 but the focus of my work experience has been with individuals, families and couples equally. I have worked in a group home, in office settings and I have also provided in-home counseling during the past few years. My hope is that whatever life situation you are facing, I can provide an open heart and a counseling relationship built on respect and trust.
I have experience working with survivors of trauma and abuse, individuals with depression, stress and anxiety, as well as couples with relationship distress. When working with survivors of trauma, I use a technique called Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I use other techniques as well, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy when working with depression and anxiety, and systems theory when working with couples and families. My style of counseling is accepting, understanding and encouraging.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Laura has been so kind and understanding in helping me work through a myriad of issues. From guides to finding a sleep schedule to understanding family relationships, she has been an amazing counselor.
I’ve been with Laura for several months now dealing with years of past trauma. She has helped me in so many ways such as teaching me to self care, providing me with the tools I need to cope properly with my triggers that cause me anxiety. She is wonderful, and I absolutely would recommend her to anyone I know. I plan on her being my therapist for a long time.
Laura has been invaluable in helping my partner and I work on improving our relationship. We were really strained and struggling to work things out when we started with Laura but her clear guidance and suggestions have completely turned things around. We appreciated the weekly goals and structured approach, as well as her friendly manner. We would very happily recommend Laura to others. :)
Laura is the jam!

I continue to feel supported by my counselor Laura and feel that I am working positively toward my mental health goals. Thanks!
Laura has been great responding promptly, offering good ideas and suggestions. She is inquisitive to help me achieve my goals.
Laura's methods - mainly CBT focussed - have been practical, easy to integrate into my life, and have helped me better manager issues that have been plaguing me for years. She is responsive, intuitive, and has pushed me to dig deeply within myself to uproot the primary causes of my problems. She gives you tools to see the world in a neutral or positive light, away from dysfunctional and destructive thoughts and attitudes. I can't recommend her more highly.
I have only been counseling with Laura for 2 weeks and her help has already been so beneficial to me. I appreciate all that she does for me.
Laura is very understanding and great at listening to what I'm going through, asking questions and making suggestions to help. Through my sessions I am a better person today and I owe it to her.
So far Dr. Angers has shown an amazing open heart, open mind, and kindness. I recommend her highly.
I feel very comfortable with Laura. She is encouraging and understanding, and asks helpful questions to get me to think about where my feelings and reactions could be coming from. I have had a complete turn around with our sessions, and look forward to talking to her so I can update her on my week. Often times things come up that I didn't even realize needed talking about. I leave our sessions with sense of relief.
I really like her. She listens to me and gives me a good amount of information to work with. She let's me be independent as well as be their when I need her.
We absolutely love Laura, she's very kind, understanding and we feel very comfortable to share our life problems with her, my husband and i are actually beginning to communicate and work together through our issues. Thank you Laura for all you do!
