More about Jennifer

  • 25 years' experience

Hello! My name is Jennifer and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in the great state of Texas. I have 20 + years of therapeutic experience.

My clinical experience and training extends to providing counseling services in both agency, private practice settings, in person and through telehealth platform like this. I am a trauma-informed practitioner who has extensive knowledge and experience working with individuals of all ages and families who have been affected by trauma. I have advanced trainings in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mind/Body Connection and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). My specializations include assisting individuals of all ages and their families who struggle with childhood attachment trauma, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), complex-PTSD, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), ADHD, phobia, panic, grief and loss, behavioral issues, self harm, and suicidal ideation to name a few.

Through the counseling process, I strive to help each client identify destructive patterns, whether they be in thoughts or behaviors that seem to keep them and those around them trapped and left feeling unbalanced or out of control in their every day. I believe that to accurately identify these negative cognitive and behavioral patterns that it might be necessary to gently explore stressful experiences and relationships from an individual’s past and present life. As these stressors are identified, I guide each client to set attainable goals, provide positive internal and external resources to help reduce anxiety/stress and encourage patience as they begin navigating the therapeutic process.

I hope to offer a secure place to anyone who is in need of guidance and unconditional acceptance. If you are someone who is in need, I would love to learn more about you and help you explore areas of your life that might need more attention and balance.

This is a courageous step you have taken and I look forward to being your guide as you begin this process.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
