Hello!

My name is Sarah Veale and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Tennessee. My career has spanned twenty years in three states. I have considerable experience working with a variety of populations in various care settings from inpatient to residential wards of the state, juvenile detention, outpatient private practice and at a managed care company. This experience spans children, adolescents, and adults with symptoms associated with mood and anxiety disorders, dual diagnosis substance abuse, developmental delays, family conflict, self-esteem issues, self-injury, histories of abuse and neglect, and personality disorders.

My philosophy is to partner with you to help you improve your emotional health. I will guide, train, and confirm that you practice your skills from therapy to achieve improved emotional health. In relation to most problems, I believe that time, information, and education foster understanding and acceptance. Whether this applies to you or to those that matter most to you, this is essential to consider when change is desired. We will work together to help you to enhance your understanding and ability to cope with problems and bring about change.

My schedule is fairly open and flexible so I am able schedule sessions outside of my viewable schedule. I will be checking my messages a couple of times per day, Sunday through Friday, and will strive to contact you within 24 hours of your messages. Thank you for choosing me and I look forward to working with you.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

I really don’t know how I would have gotten through this year without Sarah. I’m still here because she’s been here for me. She has really helped me to work on things about myself that I didn’t think I was strong enough to do. Saying I appreciate her doesn’t seem like enough, but I truly do.

I came to BetterHelp really hoping to find someone I clicked with and Sarah Veale has been just what I needed! She’s really helped me through some tough situations, not only on video sessions, but also through messaging and worksheets that have been a tremendous resource. I am so glad that I’ve been able to connect with a therapist that I feel is truly helping me get to the bottom of some old issues.
