Hello, I'm Janet Ferrell. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Mental Health Service Provider additionally. I have worked in mental health for over 30 years in a variety of settings. I have worked with individuals with addiction issues, domestic violence, mental health issues, inpatient and outpatient treatment. I have a background of working with adolescents and adults but not small children.

I have experience in many types of therapy but excel in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I enjoy mindfulness and guided imagery techniques. I believe therapy must be individualized to the client and not a one fits all experience. We are all unique and special in our own ways. I strive to create a safe space where the client feels comfortable opening up.

I hope to hear from you so we can start the journey of therapy together. It takes a brave person to pursue change but I believe if that is your goal it can be achieved.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

The best of the best. She is so kind and understanding and has really helped me turn my life around. She is a great listener and gives great advice and solutions that you may not even think of. I am autistic and she treats me with respect and talks to me like an adult. We are able to have intelligent conversations together. She is also great to talk to about anything else like how your day is going, what you’ve been up to, etc. One of the nicest people you can meet—very lucky to have her as a therapist.

After just 2 sessions with Janet my life had already changed for the better. I had horrible therapy experiences in the past and it took me a long time to get the courage up to try again. She shows me compassion and understanding. She always knows what to say. The few tools Janet has given me in our short time together actually work, which is something I didn't experience previously in therapy. Her smile lights up the screen and when I am with Janet, I know that I'm in a safe, secure space. She is everything I wanted in a therapist and more. I can't wait to see where my life goes with her by my side to help.

I have spent the last six months working with Janet, and in that time, she was able to help me go from a devastated wreck to finally feeling confident in how to deal with my emotions. I've experienced a lot of trauma in my life, and she has helped me to face those experiences head on and deal with the problems they have created. Janet made a space for me to be my full, authentic self with absolutely no judgement. I have been able to share fears, traumas, and aspects of myself in such a vulnerable way that I would not have been able to without the care that she brings into a session. Janet has helped me to see myself as someone worthy of love and care, when previously I would never have seen myself that way. I experience symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder, and those symptoms make it very easy to see yourself as a monster, rather than a vulnerable person. Janet was able to help me see so much improvement over the last six months that I will really miss being her client, but I feel prepared to handle the challenges of both my life and my mind in a much more healthy way as a result of her care. Thank you, Janet, for helping to pull me out of a really dark place and giving me the tools to make it where I am now.
