Though I have a limited schedule, and I am only able to meet with clients through the Live Chat format, I am a very confident, very optimistic and very patient counselor licensed in Pennsylvania, with over 40 years of helping individuals, couples, families and parents. I've helped parents to assist extremely difficult children, both the young ones and the children who are now chronologically adults; I've helped families with conflicts that seem unbearable; I've helped couples with outrageous relational problems; and I've helped individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, substance abuse disorders and frustrations related to problems in reaching vocational, spiritual, relational hopes and dreams.

In addition to using an eclectic approach that includes person-centered and solution-focused approaches as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for all clients in need, I enjoy engaging clients who are interested in spirituality either in a form of existential therapy that integrates some of the works of Viktor Frankl and Soren Kierkegaard, a 12 step facilitation to encourage recovery in many areas of life, and/or a form of pastoral counseling for clients who desire to include specifics of their faith in how they make progress toward feeling better about their daily walk with God and/or their relationships and their thoughts about the future. I am also both confident and equipped to assist parents and grandparents with specialized parenting techniques to help children who have various emotional and behavioral concerns, including Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD).

For those with other specific needs, I am a Certified Advanced Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CAADC), having spent nearly 15 years treating individuals with 12 step facilitation, medication-assisted treatments and co-occurring disorders therapies, and I've worked for more than 10 years helping individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities as well as providing therapeutic support and training for foster and adoptive families.

I look forward to speaking with you about your specific concerns.

Rob is wonderful. He's a great listener, but he also provides feedback which I really appreciate. He sends notes after our sessions that are very detailed and helpful. I'd highly recommend Rob to anyone who wants to make progress in their mental health and wellbeing.

Rob is a highly intelligent and thoughtful therapist. I’ve tried many different therapists over my life and I would put Rob in the top of the bunch. If you struggle with existential anxiety issues (which I do) he’s your man. Well-versed in contemporary schools of thought around anxiety and depression so I didn’t feel like I was going back to the Stone Age when discussing solutions , as had been my experience with other therapists. Highly recommend.

He's very helpful. He's a good mediator so he doesn't always agree with something unless it's emotionally acceptable and will point out what you can and can't do it he makes good suggestions to try in certain high emotion situations and over all he listens really well and is able to figure out what I is you want out of therapy even if your unsure of what you want

Reviewed May 2022

Rob is really great! He has a lot of different approaches and experience at his disposal, and he really lets you guide your therapy—a good listener. He will make suggestions toward those different approaches, but ultimately he’ll only get into areas you give an okay about first. I was surprised at some of the topics we covered, but I’m really happy we did—I learned a lot about myself and my thought processes, really positive experience.

Reviewed July 2021

Rob is great!! He really listens to what your saying & tries to understand exactly what you mean & how these things are affecting you & your family!! After our session every week, within a day or 2 he sends me notes from our session!! If he misunderstands anything, it gives me the chance to correct it!! I really like that!! You always know that someone is listening if they ask you questions to better understand what you are saying!! The notes are great, if I make a correction then he gets back to me again letting me know that he received my message & understands it!! If he doesn't, he'll ask questions until he does!! I went to in person counseling for years & I think that with Rob over the phone is really the same!! Except I'm more comfortable in my own environment & I'm assuming that he's more comfortable in his, but I feel just as heard if not more so!! I think he's a smart guy with life experience & that helps me put my concerns into perspective!! Anyone can just sit there & nod, but you know you're being heard & understood with Rob!!
