Dr.McMahon is a great therapist. She is my first therapist I’ve ever had and she was very supportive and helped me understand what therapy is. When she realized my problems where out of her experience she didn’t hesitate to let me know to see someone that specializes in that field.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

I was very nervous when I started BetterHelp because I was afraid it wasn’t going to be worth the money since I wouldn’t be able to meet with my counselor face to face but my mind completely changed shortly after my first session. I can honestly say that Dr. McMahon is probably one of the best counselors I have ever had. I have always had a hard time with clicking with counselors in the past but it’s so easy to talk to her and I always feel a 100x better after my session. She has helped me a lot in the short amount of time that I have been with her. She is also quick to respond when I send her a message. I Highly recommend and am so thankful for her.

Dr McMahon is very kind. It’s almost like talking to things with a “mom” type figure. She has helped me sort through and validate some feelings from my career to my moods to my food choices and how several of these correlate with one another. I would recommend her to anyone!

Reviewed January 2021
