Allison is a great listener. I also love her recall and dot connecting between past and recent things I’ve shared. I love the challenging questions and resource material she suggests. I’m glad I have Allison as my therapist. Recently I referred a friend to Betterhelp. While we were in a zoom call he looked it up and started the process of perusing his enrollment. He’s out of state so I told him he would likely be given a different person. I told him I’m sure he will be pleased.

Allison has been a key piece in my healing and growth from complex PTSD. She is thoughtful and insightful and has an extraordinary gift for truly listening to someone in a deep and meaningful way. I have been in therapy on and off for 30 years and this is by far the most progress I have made!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

From day one, Allison’s listening practice, and the interest in my concerns she displayed has been genuine. Allison’s demeanor is welcoming and calming. Her recall and effort to follow up on past discussions to check on progress has been effective. The tools Allison provided for me to use, in the event of a peak levels of anxiety, and to practice using when times are good have really made a difference. While I know I still need these sessions, I also know I’m better now thanks to Allison and the services she provides through BetterHelp. All of the highlights and attributes I previously mentioned are important to me, and have been a game changer for my life. I believe Allison would provide a life changing experience to anyone who would be fortunate enough to have Allison as a therapist.

Allison has helped me through a period of transition and processing trauma from recent years and back through childhood, especially the religious trauma that has affected my relationship with myself and others. I highly recommend her!

Reviewed May 2021

I’ve only had a few sessions with Allison but have felt almost immediately at ease and relaxed in their presence. It feels easy to be open and honest even with parts of myself that are usually hard to open up about. I appreciate that while I feel Allison being neutral and supportive in listening to me and really hearing my thoughts and concerns, Allison will also offer input that I find useful and engaging (compared to other experiences I’ve had where the counselor just feels too much at a distance). It feels like talking with a good friend, while staying present and aware in their professionalism and their clear expertise in counseling and therapy. I have seen at least five other therapists and have never felt this sense of ease or desire to continue therapy before (usually I would feel closed off and uncomfortable still after 3 or 4 sessions and then discontinue). I am looking forward to digging deeper with their guidance.
