Hello! If you are exploring BetterHelp, it is likely that you are struggling with something significant in your life. I know that making this first step may be difficult for you. It is brave to seek support. I acknowledge that everyone has a unique personality and story, so finding the right person to help you through life’s challenges is very important to me. I want to provide you with some information about me in order to help you decide if my experience and style is a good fit for you and that you feel comfortable embarking on this journey with me.
My name is Elizabeth Romska and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of North Carolina, with over 10 years of providing therapeutic services. Also, I have been a school social worker for more than 20 years, working with children and families from all different backgrounds.
I received my undergraduate degree in Social Work at Meredith College in Raleigh, NC and my Masters degree in Social Work from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. I received a certification in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) and serve as a Crisis Counselor on the CISM team for a public school district.
The foundation of my work is client-centered and trauma-focused, which concentrates on establishing trust and respect in order for change to occur. I hope you find comfort knowing that I am a therapist who will honor you as the expert in your own life and nurture your personal growth. I see each client as a unique human being with the power within them to heal and grow. I will help you discover the tools you already have to make changes by providing a safe space to feel heard, instilling hope, engaging with compassion, and supporting you with empathy. Sometimes we struggle and need help finding our way back to the life we want to live. We may experience feelings of anxiety, depression, hopelessness, and guilt. As a therapist, I aim to create a safe space for my clients to explore their feelings and experiences, and ultimately move towards the things they value. My practice is rooted in compassion, acceptance, and non-judgement.
Throughout my career, I have had the honor of working with people from all different backgrounds and ages. Much of my experience has been working with individuals affected by depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse and neglect, ADHD, LGBTQ+ issues, and the challenges of parenting.
Outside of my work as a therapist and as a school social worker, I enjoy spending time with my husband and three daughters, exercising, playing games, and enjoying nature.

Online counseling allows you to receive care from a mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.

I absolutely adore my therapist. She has helped me so much in my short time in therapy!
I LOVE Elizabeth. I’ve been working with her for over a year and the differences in my life are just so much more than I expected. She is solely responsible for my marriage not breaking up… My family has been through a lot over the last year and I don’t know what we would have done without her.
Elizabeth has been nothing short of wonderful! She really wants to hear about your day to day life and I get so excited for my next session with her!
Elizabeth is a genuine and compassionate professional that I enjoy working with.

Elizabeth is the kindest, most understanding and caring individual I have ever met. I was hesitant about therapy until I met her. She truly is a gem and an absolute blessing on this platform. I can't recommend her enough. But I also don't want all her spots to fill up because I adore her!!! Elizabeth truly is one of the best counselors I have ever met in my entire life.
Elizabeth has been fantastic so far and I look forward to continuing to work with her! She reads and responds to each section of my messages and I feel like she truly cares about me and my progress.
I show up to every meeting with Elizabeth bursting at the seams with frustration and thoughts that I've accumulated over the week. Somehow in the course of an hour, I manage to let it all out and find a brief moment of peace. It is in conversation with Elizabeth that I have experienced some of my greatest catharsis. She is a remarkable social worker, and person.
Elizabeth is a very caring, professional therapist who will let you open up at your own pace. She is able to handle difficult situations with care, and I feel better after our sessions.
She is the best and makes me feel better and goes out of her way to do so what counsellor do you meet that offers to contact you at the weekend
Elizabeth instantly puts you at ease as is extremely personable, even through the screen. She is easy to talk to, and provides helpful, practical advice. I feel fortunate to have been paired with such a caring and kind counsellor.
