Hey, my name is Andrew.

I enjoy staying active in my free time and my hobbies include running, hiking, reading, and writing. Family and travel are important to me. I have been working in the mental health field for a little over 8 years. I have worked in a jail diversion program for teens, a residential evaluation hospital for children and adults, and a community-based program for at-risk children, teens, and their families. I believe that as humans our identity is very important for our well-being. Understanding our personality in terms of genetic and spiritual factors, our family dynamics, and social connectedness is essential. Having a healthy and positive perspective of ourselves, our lives and our relationships with others can have a big impact on mental health.

Our thoughts can be very powerful and I believe they can be a starting point for achieving our highest potential. For this reason, my therapeutic approach emphasizes interventions from Positive Psychology and Cognitive-Behavior Therapy. My approach is informed by many treatment modalities including Adlerian Individual-Based Counseling, Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Collaborative Problem-Solving, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Existential Therapy. Therapy is also supported by measurement-based care and informed by neuroscience.

In our work together we will take a look at your strengths, likes, and interests and work to maximize them, while also taking a look at daily routines that can build skills in areas of struggle.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Andrew is really taking the time to understand where I'm at and what my goals are. I thought I needed a drill-sergeant, but really I needed a drill-sergeant who knows when not to be. He has walked that line with the utmost professionalism and grace. Immensely grateful for his experience, expertise, and perspective. Would recommend to anybody who is serious about therapy.

Andrew is very knowledgeable and sensitive to the issues we’re working through. I like the fact that he doesn’t keep going back into past, but get just enough information to know what we’re dealing with, and then use goal setting and a bit of info to help keep an eye in the future, building a better self each and every day. Thank you, Andrew!

This man, this man, this man! I honestly am not sure that I can fit everything that I want to say into these lines but I will state that he's fantastic! We have always had a great connection, he is a great listener even for the things that are left unsaid. He always finds something positive even in the most dire of situations. There has never been an appt where I didn't feel like I didn't get at least one thing out of our time together. His insight and words of encouragement are always amazing and have such a huge impact on both me as a person and my recovery as an alcoholic.

Andrew has provided empathic listening and useful mental health tools. He was able to track my rambling speech patterns and helped me ground back to the point of discussion and the tools I can utilize for myself to navigate my emotional/mental realm. He provided good worksheets and learning, so I can further reinforce the positive and healthy pathways and patterns I am moving towards.
