Hello, I'm Brenda and I've been a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina for 18 years. I've been working in the public mental health sector for a majority of my career. I graduated in 1997 from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling. Prior to working in the mental health sector, I was a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor and assisted people with disabilities to find and maintain employment.

I utilize a diversity of approaches in my counseling treatment as every individual is unique and has their own needs. The primary modalities of treatment that I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, motivational interviewing, and person centered therapy. I've worked with both individuals and groups during the course of my practice and feel both are helpful to work toward individual growth. I have a great deal of experience working with depression, anxiety, chronic illness, phobias, social anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, and LGBTQ issues; however, I have also worked with other populations as well.

The ability to succeed in therapy is up to you. I feel that I function as a catalyst to help you with making change. You've already started your journey towards change as you've started to seek out a therapist. Let's see what we can do together to help you achieve your success in life.

Brenda is by far the best therapist I have ever had in 10 years. She expects radical honesty and authenticity while still respecting boundaries. She provides a safe place to be vulnerable and tailors a therapeutic plan to fit whatever goals and needs you have.

Reviewed November 2022

Brenda has walked through my journey of healing from toxic relationships with my career and helping me understand how I am interacting with the world around me. I would strongly recommend her to anyone but especially those struggling with career decisions.

Brenda is great for those that need the gentle reminder that we are all only human. Working with her has helped me learn this in a relaxed setting, she has always accommodated me when I needed it and helps me as if she is my friend, not just some stranger paid to do it. She is humble, kind, endearing, and teaches by following.

Brenda has worked with me now for over a year around the areas of anxiety and chronic work related stress. She has provided me with wonderful guidance and support while at the same time confronting my thinking and identifying ways I could interact with others in a way that lessons my anxiety.

Brenda has helped me a great deal. She is always willing to listen, and help me work through my problems as they arise. She doesn't mind when I have to reschedule with my crazy life, remembers what's going on and is so kind. I am really glad I have her and this site.

Brenda is the best therapist I have ever had. I struggled for years with Anxiety and other personal issues. I've spoken to multiple different therapists over the years and none of them hold a candle to Brenda. I have been with her for two months now and I am amazed at the progress I have made and the place I am at now versus two months ago. She is so warm and funny. She knows how to make your session just like a casual conversation which makes the whole process so easy to open up about and talk through. I cannot recommend her enough!

Brenda has been great. She listens and is very good at keeping fun conversations but also getting to the point of why we are here. She gives worksheets and helpful things to do throughout the time in between sessions and is very reasonable with her availability.

I've had therapist before and they were fine but Brenda is great. I came to her with a crisis situation and she just said a few keywords and it helped turn it around for me. And I was able to relax and take out my crisis and start thinking about other lingering things like anxiety/crisis recovery. It was a larger than life problem and she helped me make it manageable and helped me begin to put it behind me.

I have been working with Brenda for the past 11 months or so, and I was probably at my lowest when we began. Having her in my life through this therapy app has been exactly what I have needed to get back up and moving forward. I highly recommend taking a leap and starting your journey forward with her.

She feels very real to me, I like to be able to have a personal connection with therapists, and I think she does a great job at that. I feel so comfortable after a very short amount of time and would definitely recommend her!

Brenda Moore has been such a refreshing counselor for me and I’m surprised by how accommodating and considerate she’s been working through BetterHelp. I was hesitant to continue doing therapy let alone through an application with past experiences outside of and within, but I feel I’ve found someone that I can make progress with now. Looking forward to my first video session soon

This is my first time getting professional help. I feel like Brenda is doing a good job with understanding what my issues are without taking my side per se, she agrees with my concerns and whats hurting my mind but doesn’t let me be ok with it. Not sure it that makes sense. Kind of a tough love type of helping.
