I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor licensed in New York State with four years of experience working as a counselor. I have worked with clients with a wide range of issues such as anxiety, bipolar disorders, depression, schizophrenia, antisocial personality disorders, relationship issues, aging and geriatric issues, codependency, and self-harm. I also have three years of experience working with individuals with severe persistent mental illnesses and my current full-time position is working in a facility with individuals with such illnesses.

My counseling style is based on collaboratively working with clients in achieving the goals set out in therapy. I believe that the building of rapport is an essential element of counseling which helps in building therapeutic alliance. I also believe in treating anyone with respect, understanding and empathy.

My approach implements Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Therapy. Each treatment plan will be individualized based on the needs of each client and issue.

She is a wonderful therapist! She listens and often gives great advice. She is also very patient and is willing to help you in any way! She makes me feel comfortable and happy! There are also a lot of methods I have not heard of and tried some like meditation for controlling anxiety.

Dara has since the beginning very supportive and understanding of my needs and concerns. She constantly checks up on me and asks how I am doing. She reminds me of how important it is to take care of myself and that it is okay to take your time to process feelings/emotions. I'm thankful for her support - she's amazing.

Dara is a wonderful therapist who helped me get through certain obstacles in my life when I had thought that nobody cared. At first signing up on the App made me feel nervous but after 2 days she made me feel very comfortable to start FaceTiming. After just 3 weeks of talking to Dara, I have turned my life around! Her support through messaging and our weekly appointments has helped me not feel alone. I have never done therapy before. Didn't really see how it could be of much use, since I had read about depression and tried things on my own. Dara is fantastic, and she has shown me how much therapy can help me. She never judges, she listens and remember everything, even though I know I'm not her only patient. She also checks up on me, and I feel like she actually wants to help me get better and together I feel I can grow and overcome the feelings that cause me to get down.
