Rebecca has helped me find worth in myself. When I started with her I didn’t believe in myself at all, and that made it hard to want to improve my life. I have worked though many traumas with her, and she has taught me how to stay in the moment and not freak out when I am triggered.

Reviewed November 2022

I appreciate her willingness to laugh with me at the really dark stuff.

More about Rebecca

  • 8 years' experience
  • Female
  • LMHC

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York State with over 8 years of clinical experience. My primary work has been with individuals struggling with substance use and the wide range of emotional, relational, and physical issues that accompany addiction. I have worked with individuals with histories of complex trauma, including intergenerational trauma and childhood attachment issues. I also have experience in treating mood disorders such as anxiety, depression, and bi-polar disorders, as well as a variety of personality disorders. My clients have ranged in ages, from young adolescents to older adults, and have come from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds.

My approach is warm, empathetic, and playful; I believe that life is already difficult enough, and we don't need to make it harder for ourselves! I primarily practice Mindfulness-based counseling, which is a client-centered and trauma-informed approach. I believe in leading with compassion and understanding, and one of my greatest hopes is that each client can approach themselves with compassion and understanding as well. I believe that recovery and wellness is a lifelong process, and that my role is to walk beside you to provide tools and support as you make your journey.

I have met with Rebecca for a few months, and I am so grateful for everything she has helped me with. She is kind, personable, and has a way of making me feel comfortable enough to share things I haven’t before. She has helped me with so much that I am able to go through my day with a little more ease because of her.

Reviewed August 2021

Rebecca is amazing. There is no pressure to disclose issues you are uncomfortable with and you can take your time to work things through. She is wonderful to talk to and puts me at ease when discussing difficult topics.

Reviewed July 2021

Rebecca is a fantastic counselor. She listens to me and always remembers things I mentioned at the next visit, even if that's almost a month later. She validates how I feel about situations, sometimes even when I'm feeling irrational. But the best thing about her is that she teaches me something new every visit, weather it's a technique to help regulate my emotions and ground myself, or if it's that I should allow myself to feel the emotions I'm trying to surpress. And if you aren't struggling? She is great to just have a chat with, and you might end up discovering something new by the end of the conversation.

At this point, I’ve worked with Rebecca for a couple months. From the start, even with this platform (virtual mental health), I have felt supported, respected, and as though she has an excellent understanding of what I am going through. I only wish I could see her more often or in person. Rebecca employs a variety id psychological modalities. For me, I enjoy how she can provide grounding and mindfulness activities quickly to intervene when I am feeling very anxious or disconnected. She is one of the best therapists I’ve had.
