I've recommended better help and Christina to a few friends. The platform is wonderful in terms of flexibility and Christina is the most professional and understanding therapist. I've only ever had her but comparing my experience with the experience of friends who found therapists outside of the platform it makes me think the platform has a good selection and pairing strategy.

I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of New York with over 8 years of experience working as a clinician. My background includes working with survivors or assault/abuse, human trafficking, those with problematic substance use, individuals that identify as LGBTQ, and a wide variety of mental health diagnoses (including anxiety, depression, and mood disorders).

My counseling style comes from a compassionate, authentic, and nonjudgmental approach. Much of my skills and techniques are driven from mindfulness. When working with clients I believe in providing a safe environment for others to be their authentic selves. I also incorporate cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy; person centered approach; as well as other therapeutic techniques dependent on the needs of my client. I believe that the client is the expert of themselves and as the counselor; my role is to assist in providing support in addressing problematic life areas and guidance in improving the quality of life.

Christina is amazing. I love the work we have done together. The techniques and skills she has introduced me to and encouraged me to keep practicing and applying day to day have completely changed my behaviours and negative thought patterns. I never thought I could connect with a therapist. However, Christina changed all of that. I was in a dark place and took a chance with BH. Christina listens. Really listens. I can tell her anything and know that I’m in a safe space and will not be judged. Multiple times I’ve been on the verge of a panic attack at the start of our session and just seeing Christina calms me down. She is so kind and reassuring and I’m not sure what I would have done had I not been connected with her. When I’m having a tough time, I reflect on our sessions and her advice.
