Alisha is incredible. She has been so helpful through a bunch of ups and downs, always offer support and interesting insights, and challenges me to test my assumptions. I have learned so much from her and am so grateful to have been connected with her.

I have enjoyed working with Alisha. Her focus and asking of questions and quick read of situations, challenges and history - and how that has impacted current actions, has been very insightful. She was also very positive - but didn’t shy from naming what she saw as issues that need to be addressed. Her demeanor is also very warm and within a few sessions, she felt like a trusted confidant. I enjoyed working with her and took her recommendations to seek focused help with other specialists, which again speaks volumes on her interest in doing what’s best for the client. Thanks Alisha for all the breakthroughs!

Greetings and Welcome,

Thank you, in advance, for this esteemed consideration. Choosing a therapist can be as daunting as the inner work itself and one of my initial goals is to always honor the courageous decision to allow someone "in" (which can often be a difficult step to overcome). It takes a certain amount of strength to recognize when a little assistance may be needed to get through life's challenges (recent or long-standing), and I would welcome the opportunity to be a helpful, therapeutic ally.

I am a client-focused Counselor with 25+ years of experience in inpatient and outpatient settings. As an accomplished care-setting clinician, engaging communicator and empathetic listener, I strive to create a safe, authentic and collaborative space that supports your current needs and encourages overall well-being. Helpful in that purpose, is respecting the importance of understanding the issues from your perspective utilizing evidence-based modalities that include, but are not limited to motivational interviewing, client-centered/narrative/solution-focused and talk therapies.

In partnering with me you can look forward to being heard objectively and valued.

Together, let’s endeavor to increase clarity and lessen uncertainty or doubt. You’re not alone.

It’s nice to e-meet you!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Alisha has been amazing to work with while I’ve been navigating workplace challenges, life changing challenges and self negative talk. She’s intentional with her listening and feedback. Speaking with her feels like a safe place for me to be vulnerable.

Alisha has been my “ sounding block” for over 14+ months, and aside from the Covid issues, my family dynamics have been tumultuous, with personal, health issues and business problems galore. Had it not been for Alisha’s genuine understanding of my very complicated life, and her encouragement for self care during each drama, I doubt that my mental health would have arrived at this rather stable point without her advice. Her calm and humorous undertones match my personality . For goodness sake, I can not say enough positive aspects about working with Alisha. She is a good listener, and her criticisms of my behavior are never condescending, but extremely constructive. I am a better version of me, than I was before I started with Alisha.

I have had the pleasure of working with Alisha Beverly for almost a year, and although I only speak to her about once a week , I communicate almost daily by writing a diary detailing my activities , emotions and group dynamics . Being able to communicate this way , especially with the Covid precautions that were necessary, provided a safety net for me ! It has been a life- saving resource and I plan to continue using this format for my future sanity !! Alisha always responds to my diary, and her insight and knowledge about my life and family dynamics, provides me satisfaction that she wants me to make the best choices possible . I dont always follow her recommendations, but Alisha helps me through my decisions, anyway . Being able to speak to my counselor for almost an hour every week ,and to keep her informed about my very complicated family dynamics by detailing day to day events, has enabled me to keep me going. Alisha is straightforward, kind and has a great understanding of the complicated life that I live . As I have said to her , I could not have gone through this past year without Alisha in my corner .

For my time with Ms. Beverly has been great. She takes the time to help me understand my thoughts. That alone has made it easy for me to navigate better in life. Thank you.

Alisha is very helpful, responds to my written texts in a very respectful and timely manner. I found that her insight is terrific both through written and phone interactions. I have been her client for six months , and have gone through extremely difficult family dynamics. Thanks to my wise college age granddaughter, who saw me dealing unsuccessfully with a multi-level family crisis, she encouraged me to go to counseling, but during the Covid crisis, knew that was not realistic. She knew of a friend involved with Better Help, and said I could immediately get counseling on a Friday evening! I was lucky to be set up with Alisha Beverly. My weekly conversations have been very helpful, and I am delving into uncomfortable personal and family issues, which have haunted me for years. I have recently had several family crises since I connected with Alisha, and she understands the difficulties of aging, associated illnesses and complicated decisions. I can forward information as it unfolds, and she responds very often within a few minutes. Going to a traditional therapist has never been this comfortable for me. Perhaps it is because this format is most like talking to my sister, who is my best friend. Alisha and I generally speak weekly, but if I’m upset or need more therapy, it can happen . I generally write a diary entry daily, and speak weekly. Although it has not face to face, I think this phone format is the next best platform to driving to my therapist. I especially like the fact that I can send as many messages as I need to her, and if I have an immediate personal issue, she will respond very quickly. She helps me analyze life’s problems logically, but doers not judge my decisions. Need help? Ask for Alisha Beverly at BetterHelp. You might find that if you are in a rut and want life to be even a little bit better, it’s worth opening up to someone, like I have with Alisha. I think she has probably heard it all. .
