More about Cori

  • 10 years' experience
  • Female
  • LMHC

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York State with almost a decade of experience working with adolescents and adults of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds struggling with problems related to mental health, substance use, relationship concerns and phase of life problems. During my career, I have worked in a variety of health care settings, providing both individual and group therapy. Using a client-centered approach, I emphasize empathy, positive support, and non-judgment in my work. Additionally, I prioritize the use of evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy interventions including mindfulness, as appropriate. I believe that the journey to become familiar with our authentic selves not only improves our feelings of wellness and self-esteem, but also helps to enrich the relationships that we share with others.

It is my privilege to partner with individuals on these very personal journeys and I look forward to travel with you on yours.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Reviewed February 2022

I’ve been working with Cori for about a month now and felt extremely comfortable off the bat. She is a great listener who consistently creates a safe space for me to be introspective and vulnerable. Her approach is very curious— asking non-leading questions and providing reaffirming statements— which have greatly helped me find the answers I need to process my emotion. I have already recommended people to her and will continue to do so!
