Barbara has been an invaluable part of my life for a couple of years now. As I lived through serious family trauma she both provided immediate crisis management, and taught me new skills to manage depression and anxiety. Self-compassion was a new concept to me, but Barbara guided me through a huge amount of work to get myself to a much better place. Now that my life is less difficult, Barbara is skillfully guiding me through trauma recovery and continuing personal growth. I cannot thank Barbara enough for all she has done for me, and I cannot imagine what my life would be like if I had not been connected with her.

I am a licensed professional counselor in New Jersey with over 25 years of experience. My counseling style is warm and interactive. My approach is very holistic; exploring many areas of your life and seeing which you would like to work on first - knowing that many overlap and contribute to well being - or the lack of it.

I have specialized most often with people of all ages who have Attention issues. These issues rarely show up alone; teaming with depression, anxiety, OCD, sleep disorders and executive function deficits. They also impact relationships and job performance and so there are many places to jump in and do great work together.

I also have a lot of experience with women in transition as they move through the many passages and milestones that come with change and age.

Along with being an LPC, I am a certified Life, Mindfulness and Wellness coach. Coaching provides an incredible opportunity to partner with a professional dedicated to support you to see the changes you want to make in your life. A coaching relationship helps you build practical strategies for success. Working with you, I will help you clarify your goals and encourage you to realize them based on strengths you have and may have forgotten. I've been working with Barbara for a little over a year and a half now, and when I say this experience has been life-changing, I truly mean it. Therapy has always been a goal of mine given my year-long struggle with my mental health, where every day was a constant battle, but I was really nervous starting out. The idea of baring my soul to a complete stranger was, in theory, great so I could receive the objective help I needed, but it was utterly terrifying in practice. But stepping into that fear, with Barbara's support, has been so rewarding so far and I don't think I could ever tell her exactly how much she's helped me. I was at the end of my proverbial rope before Barbara taught me how to weave myself together, not only back in one piece but stronger than I ever was before. She's someone who's always in your corner, always ready to listen (and call you out on negative patterns before your mind starts spiraling where it shouldn't), and our sessions have become one of my favorite parts of the week, tears and tissues notwithstanding. Barbara's super responsive, even when I think it's too late or not a great time for her to answer, and I know that she's always there for me - at my best or at my worst. She truly cares about everything I tell her about and she's so invested in my own pursuits of happiness, romance, and education that I can't wait to update her with my progress every week. Taking the step to go to therapy was a very hard thing for me to do and after a few weeks speaking to Barbara I am upset with myself I didn't start sooner.
