Reaching out for help can be an intimidating endeavor, but having the awareness that your life is not where you want it to be is a great first step. While I generally focus on the present, as we cannot change things that have already happened, we may look to the past in our search for previous success in managing the issues before you. I believe the trust built between client and therapist is the most important aspect in the counseling relationship and the pursuit and maintenance of this trust is an ongoing process. Whether you have been struggling for years or experiencing a new obstacle, I believe we can work through the concerns together. The strength it takes to ask for help is the same strength that will lead you to happiness.

I completed my Master’s of Science in Counseling from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 2005. I have been working as a mental health therapist for nearly 19 years in Nebraska. I have experience working with individuals, couples and families struggling with a variety of issues, such as anxiety and depression, trauma, anger management, life transitions and infidelity. I believe I bring a multi-faceted perspective to my work, as I have professional experience with inpatient care, case management, as well as outpatient therapy. Typically, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused and Motivational Interviewing while always stressing the importance of building the relationship between client and therapist based on trust, mutual respect, and unconditional positive regard.

I look forward to the opportunity to help people with life issues that have left them unsatisfied. Our growth is a life-long journey and sometimes we lean on others in pursuit of our true potential. My hope is that I can assist people on their path when they are looking for guidance.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

I came to Jerry when I was struggling with everything in my life and thought nobody would accept me. Jerry became the person I trusted the most with my issue and he accepted me unconditionally and I suddenly felt safe thanks to him. I even kept my membership long after I was okay because I wanted to stay in touch with him. He always knew how to speak with me, he remembered all the details from previous sessions to the level where I was surprised how can he remember all that. I am forever grateful for him, because he was here all the time when nobody else was and when I needed someone the most. Thank you millions Jerry, it was great having you as a therapist and a friend and I will always know where to find you if I need! Much love!

It's only been a few sessions with Jerry, but he's very easy to talk with, non-judgemental, and asks pointed questions to help me understand the issues at hand. He provided a worksheet before we first met that helped me to clarify why I was seeking therapy, and I think it really helped us to get started. I've been to several therapists and psychologists over the years, and I find that both the BetterHelp platform and particularly Jerry to be extremely helpful.

Reviewed May 2021

Jerry is attentive, thoughtful, respectful, and posses every other trait you’d hope a therapist would have. He has a sense of humor that he brings with his optimism and encouragement. I’ve never had a counselor compile their own unbiased list of positives for me over time and present them to me at the most needed times for positive reinforcement. I appreciate every visit I’ve had with Jerry along with his willingness to work with my schedule. If you’re questioning who to put your trust into with BetterHelp, I would without out a doubt recommend him.

What a conscientious fella. He really gets in touch with the behind-the-scenes of what has you struggling, and is a congenial and gentle hand on your shoulder, similar to what you might expect from a priest, I guess. He’s really personable and I’ve enjoyed my time with him!

Jerry really shows that he cares about what you’re saying. He will make the effort to understand everything you are saying and be able to pick it up without asking you to refresh him on something you said in another session, he remembers everything.
