Shelley has been a godsend! She’s so good at listening to what I’m sharing and then helping me to dive deeper to see patterns and potential solutions. I could never have prepared so well for certain life changes without her guidance and support. She’s a top notch therapist. It’s been a true blessing to work with her.

My therapist, Shelley Zimmerman, has been outstanding! I was dealing with grief, depression, job burnout and finally retiring within the next year. She helped me break each piece of this emotional puzzle down into steps so that I could make progress in each area. As a result, I worked through the grief, got the right help for my depression, and focused on how to manage the burnout so that I arrived at retirement day prepared and able to celebrate the milestone with no stress and got to experience the joy this accomplishment should bring as I began my new life’s chapter. I would not have been this happy without Shelley’s compassion and wisdom to guide me. Getting therapy with Shelley through BetterHelp is the single best decision I have made in many years, truly. Thank you so much for providing this service and employing competent professionals like Shelley.

Peace of Mind...You deserve it!

Many people say they want to feel content and in control of their lives. I work with individuals who want to make changes and experience more enrichment and satisfaction. Therapy is a relationship that is safe, non-judgmental, warm, and rewarding; a way to find peace. Therapy can provide insight and new perspectives into life's challenges and can help open up new possibilities and options for approaching difficult situations. Some of the benefits available from therapy include:

* Developing new skills for handling stress and anxiety

* Modifying unhealthy behaviors and self-defeating patterns

* Increasing confidence and overall quality of life

* Enhancing new ways to manage anger, depression and moods.

I am a licensed professional counselor and board certified art therapist working for the past 25 years with individuals of all ages. I primarily use evidence based techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, solution-focused, trauma focused CBT or a combination depending on the need of the individual. Being an art therapist, I also use the creative therapies to gain insight in a non-verbal way as images are sometimes easier than words. I have experience in Play Therapy, Sand Tray and Theraplay. In essence, I begin where you are and tailor the treatment approach to your need. I am will be sensitive to how your individual life experiences impact your decisions and beliefs. This is a journey we will take together to increase your quality of life!

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
