More about Veronica

  • 3 years' experience
  • Female
  • LPC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Missouri. My areas of focus include eating disorders, multicultural counseling, and post-traumatic stress and sexual abuse & assault. Most of my experience is with the previously listed categories as well as depression, anxiety, and relationship and attachment issues. I have worked with clients as young as 13 although most of experience is with adults 18 and over.

I view my role as someone's therapist as both a sounding board for them as well as a witness to their past, present, and future experiences. I am here to provide alternative perspectives as well as be present with you as you are present with the difficult things in your life. I believe that you are the expert of your own life and I conduct therapy accordingly. I will never demean or judge you or speak (write!) to you in a condescending manner.

One of the most vulnerable things we can do in life is ask for help. My hope is that therapy can be a source of support in your life and that the courage that it took to ask for help will feel like one of the best things you could have done for yourself.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
