Biography: My name is Kimberly Taylor and I have 10 years working as a licensed professional counselor (LPC). I graduated in 2008 with a Master of Arts Degree in Mental Health, School Counseling and Substance Use Counseling from Wayne State University. I specialize in working with Depression, Anxiety, Codependency, Women’s Issues, Pre-teens, Adolescents, Victims of Domestic Violence, Identity, Spirituality, Christian Counseling and Life Transitions. I create a tailored experience and counsel from multiple theoretical frameworks. These techniques include: Mindfulness, CBT, DBT, Trauma-Focused Therapy. I am also adept at Holistic counseling, which is blending Mind, Body and Spirit techniques with traditional therapeutic approaches. I am a well-rounded practitioner, in that I have counseled in a variety of settings, such as: community mental health; substance use facilities; schools; Spanish-speaking agencies; refugee shelters; integrative health clinics and private practice. In addition, my background as a K-12 school counselor allows me to relate to the needs of Pre-Teens and Adolescents. What makes me unique as a counselor is the perspective I have gained as a “wounded healer.” It is my desire to share the wisdom from overcoming my own early life struggles to uplift others. In my practice I strive to give my clients the type of experience that I would want, such as being truly heard; not feeling judged and feeling accepted regardless of race, sexuality or religion. It is also a part of my mission to unmask the stigma of mental health in our country and make treatment more accessible ALL PEOPLE.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

I felt very comfortable with Kimberly during my first session. It was easy for me to tell her what’s been going on with my ongoing struggles and I felt after a few sessions she truly had a great understanding of what I was going through and made me realize a lot of ways I could adjust my mindset to better my life. I feel like my feelings and beliefs are valid when I talk to Kimberly and she helps me push myself to be a better person.

Kimberly Taylor, understood where I was coming from in her first message to me. I’ve never done therapy before and I’m glad my first time was with miss Taylor. She’s a great listener and has been able to decipher what I was trying to say when I broke down. I was intimidated at first about therapy and talking about my private affairs but she never made me feel uncomfortable, and In the short time I’ve been speaking with miss Kim I think she can help me further in understanding myself and my behavior. I can only say that I’m glad I decided to use BetterHelp because of my new experience with Miss Kimberly Taylor .

I can’t say enough good things about talking with her and where to start. I never felt understood so fast before. I’ve had therapists in person in the past and felt like after a year of therapy it felt like they really didn’t get to know me very well and I was trying to communicate better to fix that feeling but with Kimberly it was instant with feeling understood and seen on levels I wasn’t used to aside from like a few other people in my life that know me well. So for the advice and knowledge it was extremely relevant and helpful and I was able to take what she told me and put it in my life so much easier just because it truly related. I haven’t had that experience yet with therapy so I was so excited to find her, I’d highly recommend her.
