More about Caitlin

Hi!

My name is Caitlin and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Michigan. I have been providing therapy to individuals across the life span for about 6 years. I attended Michigan State University for my Bachelor’s degree and Western Michigan University for my Master’s Degree in the advanced standing program. Along with therapy I have been a medical social worker in hospice settings, in school settings and homebased family therapy. I have worked with many different individuals and genuinely enjoy seeing the change in the people that I have worked with over the years. I have extensive experience with grief/loss, caregiver stress/burnout, vicarious trauma, OCD, anxiety, depression, self-harm, ADHD and more!

I have a strengths-based perspective and am client centered. Everyone has strengths, but sometimes we cannot see them in ourselves. Your goals are my goals! I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) as well as other techniques depending on the specific needs/wishes of the client. I utilize a lot of mindfulness throughout my sessions as I think that being present in the moment seems simple but is actually quite a challenge for us all! I work with these techniques to help change negative thinking patterns, identify emotions, and elicit positive change!

Life is stressful and my job is to help you feel a little less stressed! Change is difficult, but oh so possible!

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
