Thank you very much for checking here: I hope to be of service to you. My 13+ years of experience includes many years of counseling and listening, across various cultures, ages and personal client needs, with a few years as adjunct professor at Louisiana State University, Shreveport, LA: 3 years of work as a patient counselor in a hospital psychiatric unit, and 3 years of practice in a pediatric clinic. My current solo practice is empathetic, accepting and non-judgmental, having also practiced as an EAP (employee counselor) in a very large hospital and city system, in which I was required to see anyone for any situation or issue they may bring to counseling. This unique opportunity provided me with insights and understanding of people beyond my own personal scope of experience. I believe this has made me more sensitive to the needs, hurts and stress of the various clients I serve. I am generally available 7 days a week for appointments, because I really do enjoy my practice and my clients.

I am old enough to enjoy my 6 children, 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, together with my wife in a delightful sharing relationship. This creates a relaxed, accepting and strong relationship and family foundation for your co unseling needs. My personal strengths hopefully convey to you a caring and positive mindset as we work together.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

I have had Dr. Spears for 6 months now and what an absolute blessing he has been. Through out my therapy he has been so incredibly helpful dealing with my multitude of issues that I brought to the sessions. From articles, workbooks, faith and self help book recommendations I was able to take what we discussed and continue my self work in between appointments. Including God and my faith in each session was what I needed to help guide me spiritually along my healing path. I can honestly say that I am a completely new and healed soul after the work we put in. It feels like ending a session is like ending a call with a mentor and a friend. I’m so thankful to have found such a wonderful therapist that has been a tremendous help in bringing me to the person I was meant to be.
